![]() Well ive been cruising breeders. And i found a really good one, under no circumstances does she advertise her dogs as "teacups" but in a litter she had a very accidently small puppy. Well she did say that she would only be going to a very good home, and that special care will be needed ect.. but towards the end she said "this dog is what some might call a "TEACUP" she will grow to be very very small and fragile" Now. i know that "teacup" is bad. but in this case, since she said "what some might call" is it really a bad thing? I dont want to give names, or websites, i really dont wanna frame or point any fingers but just wanted to see if it was an O.K term to use very rarely. ps: i chose not to get my pup from this breeder (her price was above my range) but i was just curious about the teacup word. Im not looking for a "teacup" since i do have another dog and i think i slightly bigger size would be better for my lifestyle but for those looking for a tiny tiny dog would finding the word "teacup" used in a careful way be such a bad thing? .. i meen isnt just saying that the dog could fit in a cup? which is really kinda wrong when u think about it.. teacups are REALLY small, no dog could fit in there lol

![]() The way this breeder is using the "T" word is completely acceptable and not a bad word at all.

![]() i don't see anything at all wrong with the way she explained it. I have a small male also that some might refer to as a "teacup" but i don't. i know better.

![]() As far as I am concerned "teacup" is just a word to describe the size of a yorkie. It is when they use it to stick you with a huge price that is becomes questionable.

![]() I can see what she meant by using it that way...she acknowledge that she knew there was no such thing...doesn't seem to be trying to promote it as something 'special.'

| ![]() There is no problem with the way this breeder used the term. It was great that she explained to you that the puppy would grow up small and fragile. As long as she doesn't try to sell it for an extra high price just because its tiny, it sounds like you have nothing to worry about. ![]()
