I disagree completely. Don't get me wrong, I think your furbabies are gorgeous with their tails, but I love the docked look, no matter what. I'm kind of offended that you're practically saying your way is better. I'm not trying to pick fights...I'm just sayin'... Also, Yorkies didn't originate in Scotland, they originated in Yorkshire, England. http://zooclub.biz/yorkshire_terrier http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yorkshire_Terrier http://www.i-love-dogs.com/dog-breed...e-Terrier.html http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=...iginated&meta=

| ![]() It is part of the standard and suppose it's what we're all use to. To me it gives an overall balanced look. I love seeing a yorkie prance around the ring with their tail and head up with that look of self importance, defying anyone not to look at them.

Now, now ladies, it's just a matter of preferance...I've seen them with undocked tails in the ring here in the USA.....and they don't do well....judges aren't use to it. As for the fall of coat on an undocked tail....it's no difference with a docked tail. You just have to see pics of show dogs over here. The coat on their tails are extemely long. I have one in Specials coat whose tail fringes drag on the floor when he's prancing around the ring, with his tail up.

| ![]() I have both 1 with and 1 without. I really think people just prefer what they are used to. Everyone always compliments Missys swissys tail it realy is cute. But in saying that I realy couldnt picture boots with 1. But i am definitly glad that the practice is banned here, as I didnt have to make for me what I knew would be a hard decision on weither to dock or not on our first litter.

Only a breed that was originally used was brought in from Scotland to Yorkshire, England....then perfected to what we have today....Pics or drawings seen of Huttersfield Ben, from england, who is known as the father of the Yorkshire Terrier bears little resemblance to what we have today.

| ![]() Yep but does that not mean that the breed does indeed have a scottish heritage to it.

Yes and no....a breed of dog used in breeding to what we know today as the YT originated in Scotland.....but the true Yorkshire Terrier is named after the town where the breed was actually perfected.

| ![]() I want to also say that Horatio's tail is docked and I love him as much as my girl. I think he looks just as cute. I'm not a fan of docking because I feel it is cruel. I truly feel Horatio was traumatized because he doesn't like me to touch his little tail. I'm letting his fur grow on his tail to give him something more to wag...it's looking so cute.
