| I called in sick because I didn't any sleep. So actually I was sick and not Momiji, so I didn't lie. But I have no problem calling in sick if Momiji was sick. But I also will work harder the next day to catch up!!! |

| I've called out sick when my dog died 2 years ago.. took 2 days off ... my boss totally understood, but I was going through a really hard time in my life in general and the dog was the icing on the cake! (bad breakup, cancelling wedding, selling house and then 5month old yorkie pup just died in the middle of it all.. it was horrible) Ive also taken a vacation day the day after I had my pup fixed! My vet does the surgerys every tues or thurs, no other day, so I had his done thurs, took off friday and had the weekend to watch over him!

| I have. And when it came to giving meds to my dog every 4 hours, my boss insisted that I bring her to work, so that I could watch over her there.

| I'm not working out of the house but, my hubby called off work when we got Piper. We had to pick her up on the other side of the state in Miami & I didn't want to go alone. So he went with me. He told them the truth about going to the airport with me to get her. He's also his own boss, just had to let the other boss know so he could run things.

| Last summer I called in b/c my collie, Cheyenne, was very ill. I called out to take her to the vet. She had to stay over night so I went to work the next day to keep my mind busy. I ended up having to leave work early b/c her diagnosis was chronic renal failure and I had to have her put down. My boss was totally understanding and supportive. She's a dog lover, too. |

| I took vacation when Peanut was neutered and also when my cockatoo was hurt. My daughter shut the door on her foot by mistake, she needed stitches and had to wear the collar for a week. Well the collar took a hike because she couldn't even perch with it on. I keep her with me 24/7 so she would not pick at the leg and we sleep in the chair for a week. My boss just laughed when I asked for the time off. |

| I haven't called off for sickness but I did take a vacation day when he was neutered. I think it's fine as long as you are doing it for a legitmate reason ie. sickness, surgery etc. Like someone else said, they are like your children and any responsible parent would take off work to make sure their dog or child is taken care of. It also depends on who your boss is. My boss has a yorkie and a lot of other people on my team have dogs so they understand. As long as you don't abuse it.

| Definately. I took a day once because when I let him out in the morning he was acting "different". He was more clingy than usual and wouldn't really leave my side. I figured there had to be a reason because he never acted that way. Stay home from work to keep an eye on him. He was fine, thank God. I'm the boss at work but I would never reprimand an employee for a problem with a fur baby!

| Yep Ive called in a couple times for my babies, not just Sam. They know how I am about my animals and they would rather me be at home because if I was at work I would drive everyone NUTS!

| A few weeks ago when Rocky was sick I had to go into work because I opened the store, but I called my boss and asked if I could leave early after the other supervisor came in because Rocky was sick and I wanted to be home with him and take him to the vet if he needed to go, she totally understood. She knew Rocky's like a child to me, so she was cool about it. I don't know how my new manager will be about it though, (refer to my previous posting about when I called in w/ a migraine)..were cool now, and she saw my pictures of Rocky and think's he's adorable..she said she loves yorkies, so maybe she would be o.k with it. Either way, if my baby's sick, he's sick..I don't care what my coworkers think, his health is more important.
