| Michelle, I love your name "Mush" LOL. AKC registration is the papers you send in to let the AKC know what you want to name your baby. You probably already know that. Most people give their dogs a fancy name on the AKC papers and a "call" name for home. For instance, my puppy's name on his AKC papers will be "You Can Call Me Mr. Big" but at home we were going to call him Yucan. Now, we have discovered that "you can" is such a big part of our vocabulary that he didn't recognize his name so we are calling him "Mr. Big" |

| by akc registration name, I mean the name you write on their AKC papers. It is different than their call name. I looked on the AKC website and one example of a Yorkie's AKC registration name: "CH AMBLERS AMERICAN OUTLAW Call name: Jesse" You see? Another example: AKC name: "CH TOPHAT I'M JUST A FLYBOY" Call Name: Pilot AKC name: "TURYANNE MISCHIEF MAKER" Call name: Matthew I hope it was okay that I posted those. |

| Took me twelve hours to realize... You know, I went back and looked at my other post about the website...and forgot to include the link. And it only took me a day to realize that! Here it is http://www.puppydogweb.com/names/names.htm . It might be helpful for at least the AKC registration. Congrats to you!!!! And don't feel bad, it took me a week to name my puppy.

| Glad you like my nickname Mush. I have had it since I was in middle school. I guess it is a nickname for Michelle. I have heard others with the nickname as well. Just wondering if you have to have to different names one you send for AKC registration and at home? I have seen alot of CH. in the first part of the names what does that mean? I always thought it stood for champion. Not sure?? Does everyone always have two separate names? I'm not sure if we did that with Lexi. She is 7 now. My sister was the one who sent her papers and stuff at the time. She is AKC registered. Thanks for any help.

| Rufus! Hey everyone! Thanks for all the help you have given me. My family and I decided on the name Rufus for our new baby. We decided that we wanted a name beginning with Ru so that we could call him Roo for short (like Rufus, Rubin, Rupert, etc.) So we chose Rufus and it seems to fit him. He is sooo loving and cuddly when you are holding him, but once you put him down, he is a rambunctious (sp?) little guy! His formal name is Sir Rufus Theodore the 1st Thanks again everyone for all the help. I will post more pics ASAP. |

| Congratulations!! My baby will be flying home on the 18th...I can't wait!! His name is currently Maxwell (named by the breeder), but I think I will change it to just Maxx. Following with Kim's suggestion to name him Russell after the Gladiator, you could name him Maximus, which was Russell's character name. I've kicked that name around myself...a nice and "strong" name, but I think I'm leaning towards just Maxx, spelled with 2 x's to be different. Enjoy your new little one!! |

| Guys, we changed his name. We decided that we didn't like Rufus. It didn't seem to fit him. From the first day that we got the puppy, I wanted to name him Theodore (Teddy for short) but the rest of my family hated the name. Last night, my mom suggested that we call him Junior. I started calling him that and it seemed to fit okay, but I was still in love with the name Theodore. So, we named him TJ aka Theodore Jr. We also call him Teej, Peanut, and Junior. They are nicknames. LOL! Well I got some more pictures: I might have already posted some of them though, but I am posting them again: http://images.kodakgallery.com/photo...3507_0_ALB.jpg http://images.kodakgallery.com/photo...3507_0_ALB.jpg http://images.kodakgallery.com/photo...3507_0_ALB.jpg Riley and TJ http://images.kodakgallery.com/photo...3507_0_ALB.jpg http://images.kodakgallery.com/photo...3507_0_ALB.jpg Isn't TJ a doll?
