Vacation and Insurance Hello, My friend is going on a vacation (to China) soon and would like to find a pet hotel/kennel to take care of her dog while she is gone. She resides in Alhambra, California. What's the best way to go about this, go through the newspaper, online, search locally? Sadly, her friends and family are not an option. Lately, her dog has been sick and has been to the hospital multiple times and the bills are piling up. So she is thinking of buying insurance for her dog. Does anyone here have insurance for their dog/yorkie? What should we look for in determining which insurance carrier to go with and all the different types of packages. Any advice or suggestion is greatly appreciated, thanks. -Nuriko

I have never used insurance, but I did run across this the other day at the American Kennel Club. Here is the link: http://www.akcpethealthcare.com/ You can also check with your vet, sometimes they offer insurance plans. Maybe try doing a google search for "pet insurance". I'm sure you will find something. Hope this helps

I would start with the vet. My vet's office also does boarding.
