| I love your name! lol And welcome to YorkieTalk. In my opinion, I would scorn the vet! That's carelessness on their part. Perhaps, you could talk to them about getting your money back for it or SOMETHING. That's just horrible and absent-minded! Have you tried calling them?? |

| omg i'm sorry you had to go through that. this is why i'm afraid to get Ginger's double teeth pulled out if i could and had all the supplies, i'd damn near do it myself to prevent anything like this from happening. i agree with Natalie. scold that vet! this isn't what you payed them to do! best wishes and hope all works out well. keep us posted! |

| 3.00 a tooth? We won't talk about what the only real dog dentist in NJ charges. She is in Brick NJ...When I was in there the lady before me now not sure how many were taken out but her bill was 1,624.00 I almost fell off the bench. Will that be cash ,credit or will you be FINANCING that? |

| OMGosh! I am so sorry! Have you called the vet and left them a message that you want them to call you back immediately! Usually there is also an emergency number you can call also. I would leave a message now so that they realize just HOW upset you are about this! I just can't see how a vet could make this kind of mistake... its obvious to see which are permanent and which are baby teeth! I've got no medical training, but anyone can see the difference!!! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Is there a chance it really IS a baby tooth ? I know your baby just had surgery and you probably don't want to take her out yet - but they need to look at her mouth and figure out how to fix this so her other teeth don't go crooked....poor girl - I can't blame you for being upset |

| teeth The puppy canines at the bottom are the ones on the outside and have a hook on them..the top ones are behind the adult canines and have a hook. If the bottom teeth were doubled the remaining tooth will be out of place and slightly toward the tongue..but will move back to the proper place...let hope it was a baby tooth until the vet can double check. | I hope you are somehow wrong and only baby teeth were pulled, but I would take her to another vet on Tuesday for his/her opinion before going back to the original vet. Yorkies already have problems with their teeth, gingivitus, periodontitis, etc and the worst problems usually don't show up until the dog is middle aged or older. Your vet may try to convince you, if he did make a mistake and pull an adult tooth, that she will live a normal life without it, but there is no way to predict that. Any missing adult tooth will potentially cause a problem because the other teeth will shift and float out of place and cause her bite to be "off" and all other "functional" not to mention esthetic concerns. Just like us, it is never good to lose adult teeth for lots of reasons. I would ask the second vet what you request in compensation and it should be what ever it takes to make her as "whole" as possible again! I know you are upset and you have every right to be if the mistake was made, but I think if you make a "plan of action" you will be better able to enjoy your weekend. Good luck. |

| Oh that's terrible! I always wondered if that happens more often than we know, especially when they get pulled so young. My boys had their teeth pulled with their neuter at 6 months. When Andy was about 9 months I noticed that one of his front was doubled! They missed it, the permanent tooth wasn't there yet at 6 months old so I guess instead of guessing they just left it of which I'm grateful. I wouldn't want them to make a mistake like they did to your poor baby. When I showed the vet she said that they would take it out at no charge but I'm going to wait, but that sucker is in there so tight I keep playing with it but soon it's going to have to come out ... | Ok, I'm not in a very good mood after reading about Reeses so I say "SUE THE VET". Probably if it was me I'd talk to the vet first. (Oh, skip the part where I lost my temper.) See if he has anything to say to clear himself. Maybe he saw something and just didn't tell you about it. Dealing with people who deal with your babies is soooo hard. Maybe they didn't mean any harm, maybe they were just careless. Give him a chance. Sylvia |
