| Birthday Parties for Your Yorkie? Do you guys throw birthday parties for your Yorkies? Yoda's coming up on 2 years old now (in about 3 weeks or so). I know he'll get a big bone or hamhock, anything else you guys do to celebrate? We put a little party hat on Yoda, but he HATED it, as usual... Only outfits he seems to like are sweaters. |

My boyfriend's mom had a semi-birthday party for Otis. I think I was more surpised than Otis was. She baked him some doggie treats shaped like little bones, and had presents for him! One Thanksgiving, she even had a little plate setting for him in the corner, complete with a daisy in a vase. Does anyone put up a stocking for their dog on Christmas? | |

| Heh. Doggy treats! Neat! I'm going to try to see if I can find any doggy bakeries around so I can get Yoda a little cake. I know I've read about pet bakeries. Yup, Yoda gets his own stocking up over the fireplace. His stocking is as big as Mommy's and it was a ton heavier last year! |

| There's also a pet store in San Francisco that sells ice cream made for dogs! I forgot all about that. Otis had that for his birthday one time. |

| Ice cream! Wow! Wonder how it's different from normal ice cream. Yoda sneaks in a few licks now and then. Vanilla only, of course! |

| Frozen yogurt, anyone?? Toto gets a little spoon of Vanilla Frozen Yogurt once in a blue moon. Low fat, of course!! Also, her Christmas stocking is a big paw with her name on it ... ordered it online ... can't remember from whom. She loved digging her "surprises" out of it and she picked up her other "Santa" things one by one from under the tree and put them in a pile next to her "Dad"! The funniest thing was watching her watch her Dad's big Santa Express train that goes around the tree! She was just mesmerized by all the lights and sounds but the train whistle scared her spitless!!

| Do you have other Yorkies attend the party too? That'd be neato to have 4-5 Yorkies running around your house and playing all day. Well, assuming they are potty-trained! |

| Yes! This time I am throwing 1 Big Birthday Party for my 3 dogs. Since Lola turns 2 next month,Angel turns 1 in January and Cookie turns 4 in March. It works out great now since 2 more of my neighbors got dogs and another friend has 2 little yorkies too. I say go for it! It was soooo much fun and even though some ofthe oet owners might think it's funny , they end up so glad they came because the owners have more fun than the pets do! lol Genie |

| Maybe you can make some of the recipes for treats that some of the users have posted? Some of them sound good enough to eat myself.

| Last year Coffee had a swiming party - yep I'm crazy - it was just the furkids, hubby, me, my son & girlfriend and two of their friends. We all swam and played with the "kids" and then had cake, candles and presents by the side of the pool. Coffee was sooo happy and excited. He knew it was all for him..it's his birthday in two weeks and am thinking of giving him a party with furfriends. We were away for Coco's birthday, I felt so bad .. will make it up to her next year. My two do have Christmas stockings, even our friends bring presents for them.lol Somedays I think Hubby and I have lost it... we won't go to other people for Christmas 'cause we wont leave the furkids on Christmas day. So guess who's having a house full...

| We had a huge party for Bogart's 1st Birthday. We invited about 10 dogs and their owners, plus about 30 other friends and family who love Bogart almost as much as we do All in all we had about 40 people and 10 dogs. The dogs just ran around and played, but we had a table set up with just dog snacks and we had water bowls and toys in every room. The dogs, of course, had cake from a specialty dog store. Bogart wore a "Birthday Boy" t-shirt. For the people we served Chilli DOGS and everyone ate out of dog bowls I found at the dollar store. I also make bone shaped cornbread for the people - I got one of those dog bone shaped muffin tins. We made sugar cookies shaped like paws, dog houses, bones and fire hydrants for the people with some cookie cutters I found on the internet. I bought the party favors - plates, napkins, balloons, etc. from a party store and they had paw prints on them and the napkins said "Wipe your Paws." We decorated with tons of ballons and dog stuff. And, of course, each dog got a party favor - a box filled with treats. Everyone had a great time and, most importantly, Bogart had fun and loved all the attention. I am going to do it every year |
