| Yorkie threat continues The other day not too far from where I am, a house was broken into and the creeps stole most of the two children's things, TV's, etc... They put the family's Doberman in it's crate and stole the tiny 2 lb Yorkie. This Yorkie has been microchipped and all the vets in the area have been alerted but the police said the dog is probably out of state and sold already. I'm really beginning to hate these people... | it's becoming too common now that these criminals know yorkies have significantly value. we can all help by not buying these dogs off the street, but by buying from reputable breeders.

| I'm thinking that all the hype that the papers and news shows are making of this problem isn't helping at all. I think it's fueling it. Now that the "bad guys" know there's a good profit in this, I think there are more starting to steal the Yorkies. It's good that we are informed of it, but it's like advertising for the crooks. Cindy, I never would have imagined you having those kind of ideas! |

| It's a very frightening thought to invite people to your home to look at puppies. And if they had a doberman, well so much for the theory to have a big dog to protect the little one. |

| He must have been a gentle giant. They would have to shoot my Shepherd in order to get in our house. This is an example of why the I don't put a lot of faith in dogs being microchipped. I just think the whole thing is sad. People have no morals anymore!

| Since they know the value of the Yorkie I would like to believe they are treating it well. Poor little one being taken from it's home. The owner's must be frantic. There are so many parisites that suck the life out of those that work hard and just help themselves to whatever they want. Makes me sick to my stomach! |

| And it goes on and on and on... Dog Stolen Out Of Woman's Parked Car Stolen right out her parked car. Now, a Longview woman begs to have her ten year old dog returned. Sunday afternoon Bj James stopped by Walgreens on Loop 281 in Longview to pick up a prescription. That's when she says someone took her purebred Yorkshire Terrier right out of her car. Now, she says she's so distraught she can't eat or sleep. "When I opened the (car) door, it was the most frightful thing I think in my entire life, my baby was gone." Bj James is talking about her silver-haired Yorkie terrier named Mr. McKnight. She says he was stolen out her locked car when she stepped inside a store for just ten minutes. "I just got hysterical, I started crying, I ran into the store and asked for the manager," she says. Bj has called police, but so far, nothing. "I've been very, very upset and I don't want to start crying, I've done it for over two days." Bj considers McKnight her baby, a child she's taken care of for ten years and even though she has three children and eight grandchildren, she says McKnight was her friend. "My best friend, my baby." He's been there for her through seven painful surgeries. "This is why I've gotten through all my surgeries, is that little boy I would think about," Bj says. But now he's gone and she has her theory as to why. "They see a person like me who is handicapped and they know it's an easy mark. Bj says terriers are very valuable. Her's is probably worth a thousand dollars. And the fact they didn't take her black Chihuahua leads her to believe whoever's responsible is stealing for money and not thinking about the consequences. "I just don't know whether I'm ever going to get over this or not. My heart's broken. I can stand physical pain, it's just that my heart, my heart, is broken and I just want him back." A monetary reward is available for the return of the Yorkie Terrier. If you have any information, contact Sergeant Pendleton with the Longview Police Department at 903-237-2716. Dog Stolen Out Of Yard Leads Owner To Other Cases We first told you Tuesday about a Yorkshire Terrier stolen right out a woman's parked car. Since then, we've received many emails from viewers telling us about more stolen terriers. The owner of a Boston Terrier says her dog was taken right out of her fenced yard. Since her dog "Radar" has gone missing, Lynn Kelly says she's placed ads in the paper and put up fliers. Because of it, she says she's received many calls from other owners claiming their terriers have also been stolen. Lynn says she thinks someone is stealing the dogs and reselling them, leading her to believe there's a stolen dog ring, right here in East Texas. "I don't know if people are just cruising by and you know, maybe they're keeping their eyes open for them, maybe it's spur of the moment, maybe they are seeing them and coming back, I don't know....but I think something's going on, something's going on," she says. "They didn't steal my dog, they stole my heart. If you have information about Radar, contact Lynn Kelly at: 903-797-4007.

| Ivan would attack an unauthorized person entering our house and if it was someone he knew he would probably get in between them and my little dogs. He loves them and won't let anyone hurt them in or outside the house. As far as microchipping I still have faith. I know it wouldn't help in case of theft but it would if my baby got lost! |
