LUV my 3 Furrs & Alex Donating Member | How long does it take hair to grow so I can make a topknot? I was just wondering if anyone can tell me when does their hair grow enough to make them a topknot? And can you tell me how should I do it?

Each yorky's coat growth rate is different. I start training them to accept a topknot about 3 1/2 months of age....not much hair to do it with but, I just want them to get use to the grooming process and the feel of it. Just gather a wee amount of hair, just above the eyes and put it in a band.....isn't going to be much and don't expect it to be perfect....oh! and be prepared to have to redo it often as they will take it off.....

| I don't put clothes on mine, since they are show dogs.....too much coat damage.....but, you are right, many pet owners love dressing their lil babies, and they do look so adorable...training them from an early age is the best.

LUV my 3 Furrs & Alex Donating Member | I always try to put clothes on my lil ones but boo-boo the boy is always ripping pheoebe's clothes off, he's so funny. She doesn't seem to mind the clothes but he does... Saying that, he does have a mind of his own.

| Confused....why are you posting under two different user names? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/member.php?u=17652 And replying to yourself on your own threads? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73308
