| Pet Alert I just purchased 2 pet alert stickers for my windows after seeing a house behind me on fire. A neighbor yelled they have a dog. A man went running to the back of the house and got the dog out. 5 firetrucks, news, you name it showed up. Needless to say the house is distroyed. The owner left something on the stove & forgot while running her kids to school. If it wasn't for the neighbor yelling about the dog, no one would have known. The dog wasn't barking, he was to afraid. The man found him lying in a corner. My concern is, by putting stickers on the windows to let people know I have pets if something like this happens is good or not. Am I advertizing for someone to steal my little ones, or to actually rescue them. What does everyone think about this?

| I have the 'generic' yellow sticker on my doors that simply states I have 2 dogs...it doesn't mention breed or have any pictures. So, for anyone reading the sticker they wouldn't know if I had 2 Yorkies or 2 pit bulls. I feel better knowing the sticker is there and I'm not concerned for my boyz since it doesn't state the breed. |

| I think it is a great idea. I'm going to go buy one even though I have a doggie door. They might be afraid to use it if there was a fire or not be able to get to it. |

No Longer a Member | In the neighborhood where we used to live, one of the houses had a fire in the garage. After the home was repaired, I remember seeing a sticker in their front window that said, "Firefighters, please save my pets" or something to that effect. I don't think it would encourage anyone to steal your dog. No one would know it was a yorkie, you could have a rottie in there waiting to rip the hand off someone who broke in. The thing that was on the news is a rare kind of thing. |

| I'm not sure how effective this is,.......... but when we bought our house, the previous owners had a sticker on the door in the garage leading to the house. I'm guessing that they did not want to advertise on the front door that they had pets. They must have figured, if there were a fire, that emergency personnel would go through the garage. I'm not sure I would want to chance that the firemen would go through the garage to get into the house. I need to get some for the front door. Last edited by Pup-e-Love; 03-22-2007 at 08:00 AM. |
