| Ok oh my goodness Harley broke my heart. I was in the vet room while they were putting him under and when he smelled the alcohol swab he panicked! I mean full out writhing, screaming and snapping. It was heart wrenching to see and hear. The whole building was crowding around the door to see what was going on! When they finally got the needle into him he was ok. But the vet said he has 'anticipation' for the needle that makes him freak out like that. When they put the tube down his throat he started coughing from it and that was too much so I walked out. I'm just waiting now and I already have my baby wrap on for him to wake up in. Poor little guy..

| I understand how you feel!!!!!! I hate the once a year dental thing, going under, pre-blood work etc... I am always a nervous wreck!! Your baby will be fine ..... especially with your love after the fact!!!

| Harley is safely in his little wrap but still extremely groggy. Every once in a while he will give a really low grumble but then he falls back asleep. The vet said he's dental was amazing and literally took about 2 minutes! He only had one tooth removed and it was a puppy canine that never fully popped out. The only tarter he had was scrapped off w/ no problem. She said if I keep up the daily brushing and scaling that I will probably never have to do another dental on him. Only bad news is that he does have a level 2 heart murmur but she said that is nothing really to worry about yet. I'm so thankful he did so well. Thanks for all the support!

Don't worry, you've already done your homework....he will only be under for maybe 5 minutes. The vet has all emergency meds available to bring him out in a matter of seconds, should it be necessary. Mary

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Glad to hear everything went okay. My go in on the 9th for dentals, extractions, xrays and spaying. I try not to think of it now but I know as it gets closer it will be all consuming my thoughts.

| dental Hi, Harley is sooo lucky to have a mum who wants to take good care of him. I had a yorkie for 14 years and he had a dental every year of his life and died with all of his teeth! (old age, arthritis, etc.) Don't stress, they are hardier than we think! Good luck, Michele |
