| Congrats on your pup I would crate your pup at night at first. He might go potty in your bed! They are very small as well or he could fall off. Low blood sugar is common so give him nutrical a few times per day and keep him relatively calm until he is used to your house. The hardest things I have found are potty training, biting while teething and getting him to learn come. Otherwise I love my yorkie and think they are the best breed out there. Good Luck |

| I totally agree with Chewysmom with one little change, my babies don't bite they chew. Any piece of wood they can reach has tooth marks in it. LOL I put my babies up on the bed so they know they are allowed to be up there but they can't sleep up there until they know they can't go potty on my bed. Sylvia |

| It is good to crate them at night, but it only worked for us for a night After that they were snuggled right in between mommy and daddy all night. Now Haley likes to sleep in her own bed and comes in our bed at 5 am, maya sleeps next to me all night and Rocky moves around. THey are potty pad trained and go outside when we wake up, they are good about sleeping while we are. Nutri-cal is great! Congrats |

1. i let my babies sleep with me all the time, but just be very careful, because the first time i let ginger on the bed, she squished herself right between my boyfriend and i, and i squished her with my leg! so careful! 2. hypoglycemia is common in all yorkies, and all small breeded dogs. you should always have nutrical in hand, you never know when hypoglycemia can happen, and it happens quite fast. faster than hyperglycemia and is more dangerous than hyperglycemia. 3. this is hard, because it wasn't hard for me to potty train my yorkies at all. maybe the chewing is the hardest thing, well for me at least... congrats on your new baby! i bet your excited! best wishes and we want to see pictures when you get her!

| Your life will never be the same. But, as a breeder myself, I would advise you to start your questions with the breeder and then ask of others. Not about sleeping and such, but medical problems, etc that can be in your baby's background. Make a list so you will not forget anything... |

| I let my new baby sleep with us, she has a cat collar with a little bell so I can hear her moving around if she wakes up. As soon as I hear her moving I take her to her pee pad. She goes then I take her back to bed, so far no potty accidents in the bed. The bell also helps me know where she is on the bed so I don't roll over on her. I only use the collar at home & at night, if I take her out then I use a harness also with a bell instead. All the best with your new baby |

Also, you can try to prevent the hypoglycemia by putting a pinch of sugar in the waterbowl. The hardest thing to teach Fred was to pee outside, not to bite fingers and/or toes and to sit still while I'm trying to bathe him! Goodluck, and don't forget to post pictures!!

When you go for your visit take a t-shirt, a sock or something that your breeder suggests which has your scent on it and she will get used to it and make the transition easier.

| wow. that's a loaded question 1. Crate training at night is great! He didn't like it at first, but it almost MAKES him get on your schedule... ie can't lick you all night or play with your feet when you'd rather be sleeping. A lot of the times, as we're going to sleep I hear Charlie in there playing with his chew toys, but always quietly. We've only had one night of barking, and i think... because we didn't bend, he figured out that just wasn't going to work. 2. Hypoglycemia is a really scarey thing. The day before we got Charlie we had gotten another puppy from the shelter, a terrier/chi (1 pound) We had gotten her on Friday, and by Saturday night we had to put her down because we couldn't stabilize her blood suger. Even if it's not common (which it is) make sure you're prepared! It's a very fast vortex that you don't want to find yourself in. 3. The three hardest thing for us: 1. the chewing and biting while he's teething. 2. the "drop it" command. yeah right. They'll run and hide all day long. So whatever you think you may want them to drop eventually - move it out of reach BEFORE you get your puppy. Especially tissue. But mine also likes socks, snails, rocks, and anything really that he finds outside. 3. The "come" command. They really are stubborn. It takes a lot of consistency, and like most dogs, they don't seem to want to please you as badly as they'd rather please themselves. I think it takes a while for the respect to grow. Getting Charlie, for us, has been awesome! And he learns and behaves a little better everyday. Even though the training is difficult becuase this breed is so smart, therefore, stubborn... it will be a permanent blessing.

| Lily has slept with me from the first night she was here. I bought a small round fleece bed. I put it between the pillows at the top of the bed. She stayed in her bed all the time and since she was at the top, wasn't likely to get rolled on. Honestly, she did pee a couple of times at the foot of the bed but not any more. She still pees in the house just not in the bed. Now she where ever she wants to in the bed.
