I will not be as free with Abigail as I have in the past. When she was a pup, I used to let people on the street handle her. Nevermore.

| Unfortunately, Petland is one of the BIGGEST puppymill buyers. They are notorious for buying the puppymill pups and charging outrageous prices for them. A lot of their puppies are sick. The part that saddens me the most is that they prey on the unsuspecting public! The more we can spread the word about what they are about the better. I am grateful ,though, that the puppy was returned unharmed. That story in New York got a ton of publicity and you always have to wonder about the copycats out there.

| It always saddens me to see puppies or kitties for sale at a petstore. You just wonder what type of life they had before, and all the time at the store penned up in a cage. Breaks my heart. I never got good "vibes" when I heard the name Petland, and especially after hearing the price. Glad to hear all of your feedback about that store. I've never been there, nor did I ever intend to. From what I heard, the girls who stole the puppy were turned in by people who saw them on tv and knew them (they showed a store video on tv). My neighbors had a break-in recently, electronics were stolen...but what scared me most is they said their front door was left wide open!!!!! Good grief, all my little ones would run out and God only knows what would happen I am tempted to put up a sign that says "If you break in to my house, take what you want ... assuming I even have anything you want... but be sure to close the door behind you so my babies don't run out!!!!!!" |
