| Feeding question Yoda will be 5 months old Friday. I leave food and water in his crate all the time during the day. He weighs about 3.1 lbs. He is alone for about 6 hours during the day Monday-Thursday with kids at school and hubby and I at work. I do not take the food out during weekends either. We take the food bowl out at night. Eventually, I would like to take the food out and maybe use a water bottle for his crate. Yoda does great. He sometimes has pee accidents in his crate but only during the day. The only accidents in the house are when he has played hard and we don't get him outside fast enough. We don't use the training pads in the crate or out of the crate. He lets us know he has to go when he is in his crate but not if he is out. Should we use the training pads inside and when should I remove the food during the day and start feeding him twice a day instead of having food available all day?

| I NEVER take my babies food up. Most people on here free feed and that means we leave dry kibble down at all times. i give mine a little wet food for breakfast but they have their dry food down at all times. oh, and I always use training pads. Mine do not go outside in the cold weather. |

| I'm going to bump this up so hopefully, you will get some good advice. I feed wet breakfast to my two boyz and then free feed dry food all day long. Both mine go out to potty, no potty pads in the house, and we don't crate them - so I'm no help at all but if we bump this up to the top, then surely someone will have some good advice for you!

Good luck and kiss that baby for me as I never saw one I didn't want to pick up and hug and kiss.

| Thank you for your comments. I had not given it much thought regarding taking his food away until I read some threads where people were feeding twice a day. As small as Yoda is, I thought he would always need food and water available but thought I would check as I am a new furbaby mommy.
