My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Sudden Agression! All of a sudden, Tia (My cleft palate Chi, whom many of you know) is showing total aggression towards Meiahs baby and my new baby Macey. Why would this be? I mean.....she's down right mean at times for no reason and I have to scold her and grab up whichever baby she's got pinned down! She used to protect the baby when is was born, I've posted many pics showing how she acted like the new baby was hers. Since I brought the new girl home she's changed a bi. But then one minute she's playing with the pups...the next she's acting like she wants to tear them a part!!!!! |

| Is she actually hurting them? Drawing blood? If it's mostly just noise, I expect she is just teaching them some manners. To be on the safe side, though, it would be best not to leave them alone unsupervised.

| Breny I can't help you but hope things work out. Maybe she is just trying to put them in line letting them know she is Alpha. I guess you gotta be a dog to really understand their language. Good luck. Carol & Buddy |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Oh no....no blood. Just a whole lotta noise!!! But she will make they yipe! Even when I put the two pups in their playpen she attacks the playpen...going crazy at them I caught her doing it this morning and sprayed her with a spray bottle and she stopped. My mom thinks she's jealous as Tia was bottle fed and has been the "baby". I already have a _itchy female who thinks she's Alpha, I don't want another!!! She drives us crazy and will attack for no reason. I don't leave them alone. But she started out so sweet to the puppy, I just don't understand it now. |

| Breny, If it's just a whole lot of noise and an occasional yip from the puppy, I think it would be best if you stayed out of it. Puppies can be obnoxious to other dogs and it's important that they learn what's acceptable and what isn't. My guess is that Tia is trying to teach the puppies some manners. Naturally, you'll want to stay on top of it and, if what I'm saying doesn't ring true, then consulting a trainer would be a good idea. The other thing that you might try is making it clear that YOU are the leader in the household - not Tia. The NILIF (nothing is life is free) is commonly recommended for this purpose. I just posted it on another thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...576#post957576 Good luck!

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Update Things are better. I think Tia was just jealous. She's been the "baby" for so long and now there are 2 babies running around taking up all my attention. She's playing with them now, she still will put them in their place, but she's playing nicer now. Of course her favorite is still Meiahs Baby Girl. Tia is going to miss her when she goes, for sure. . |
