I read that Yorkies are full grown at 10 month. Does anyone know if that's true? As for wanting the other dogs food, can you feed them in different areas or put some in their x-pen or somewhere to eat? I have started putting my oldest in her kennel to eat cause she always lies in wait and pounces on the other pups food dishes as soon as they move an inch away. I got tired of being the food patrol cause the little one takes soooooooooooo long to eat and the biggest ones gulps it down in about 1-2 minutes. good luck

I think feeding Adie and Cassie the same food is the solution, but I need to wait until Adie is old enough. Until then we will keep giving her the puppy food. Thanks all. | |

My vet said a year, so they can get all the nourishment in puppy food. He said the shampoo doesn't matter.

We feed our babys Royal canin brand dog food and they are breed specific. Adrian gets the Puppy 33 until she is 10 months old, then she will join her big brother and eat the Yorkie blend. As it is they each steal from each other occasionally anyway. We leave the food out all day and they only eat 2 - 3 times a day.

Feeding Puppy I had a massage the other day and the girl was telling me about Holistic ways of people and animals...I found out from her that Iams and Science Diet are not the best foods availabel to your puppy or dog...Iams was bought out by Purina and both foods contain corn or corn bi-produsts which are fillers and dehydrate the animal, and ironically enough Charlie has been itching alot and drinking alot of water...Most people who try to cleanse the puppy from this give them what you want in a good dog food or puppy food, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Rice and Mixed Veggies and skip dog food...She said her friend gives her dogs a peeled carrot for a chew and snack goo vitamin A...What do others think about the ingredients in food for our animals, I am curious to know, I knoiw this to be very true as our shepherd had alot of skin drying issues and we had to experiement w/ her food...Thanks, yml P>S> my vet said puppy shampoo designated for puppies, I was using J&J No more Tears and he said our skin and theirs are not the same...

There was another post on here the other day and it was about a skin rash. I don't remember who posted it but I found out that there is an oatmeal spray you can use on your dogs skin that really helps with itchy skin problems. My shepherd and shih tzu both have seborrhea so I'm going to get some for them. They have prescription shampoo. I also try to stay away from corn.

Thanks~ Thank You for the info, how did you determine the difference between the need for spray or corn? Our shepherd too had an itch problem...

On that same thread someone explained (and I've heard this before) that a lot of dogs (especially yorkies) are allergic to corn and a lot of dog foods have corn in them. That is primarily why I stay away from corn. The oatmeal spray was discussed separately. They also discussed oatmeal baths. I'm going to have to find that thread and attach it to this one.
