Please Help..... Princess is expecting, today is the day 65 from her last bred, her temperature yesterday was 99 all day long and today started at 99.1 in the morning and now is 98.4. She still doesn't have milk and i'm worry cause my vet called me a few minutes ago and he sayd that if nothing happens today to taker her tomorrow for a c-section, that i shouldn't wait more than day 65... What do you think... i'm afraid cause she has no milk at all... but I don't want to be wrong cause if not i have to wait till monday and it could be too late by then.. Does any body know about this...

Hi, many times the milk won't come in til whelping time, so don't worry about that. 99 degrees is a good temp. That's the normal drop 99-100 a week or so before whelp it'll hang and fluctuate. They usually drop into the lower 98 degrees then you have around 12- 36 hours. Trust your instincts, and work with your to do what's best for your girl. Personally, I would be leary of doing a c-section without some sign of my girl going into labor first (has caused many of premature puppies deaths). Meanwhile, you can research more and more to help you feel more confident that your girls going to be just fine.

First of all, calm down. Your baby will feed off of your emotions. Second, I've only had one litter of Yorkies, so I'm no expert. With Chloe, it was impossible to tell if she had any milk, but she nursed five pups to perfect health. 65 days is a long time, so I'd watch her carefully. If her temp has dropped, that may or not be a sign of impending labor. Don't leave her alone. I slept on the floor with Chloe and am so glad I did as her labor started about 5:30 am. Have you all the needed supplies on hand? Lots of towels, scissors, nasal aspirator, heating pad, milk supplment, scale, and last, but not least, the vet's emergency number. I'll say a prayer and hope all goes well for you. Keep us posted on her condition.
