| Escape Artist My little Pixie has become quite the escape artist. We've gone through a few "normal" collars... you know, with the little buckle like on a belt or something. She's realized that if she works at it, she can get a tooth in the holes for the buckle and rip it off. I tried tightening them, but if I tightened it any more, it would be just too tight. So I thought I'd outsmart her... I got a different kind of collar! I got a neat little pink one that latches like a lifejacket and child seats in walmart buggies. You know - where you push the sides and it pops off.... Well, less than a week later, and she's got me outsmarted again. I found it laying on the floor this afternoon. I put it back on her, and found it on the floor again a bit later. I just put it BACK on her in the bed, and it took her a whole 45 seconds to unbuckle it and pop it right back off. I've temporarily given up, but that leaves her without visible ID. Anyone else have escape artists? What did you do?

| Haven't heard of it... Can I have more information? And how much are they? When she was really little, we had a little harness for her... but it was so hard on her hair that I went to a collar.

| Mine eat their collars or harnesses. Ive never witnessed this, but Ive come home to them in shreds! now I only put them on them when they are going for a walk. I don't know if they eat them off each other or off themselves, but Ive already lost 2 collars and 3 harnesses for EACH DOG in a year!! haha |

Meantime about the collar - her "new" one is still in tact, she's just figured out how to unbuckle it. And when we go potty outside, we work on offleash training in our front yard... and she's highly supervised (and does a great job, too) so she doesn't *really* need one then. She does go to school on Saturdays and I'll have to put her collar on her for that... I think my biggest fear is what if she slips out and has no ID? It was hard enough getting her back last time WITH ID! I need to figure out a way to make her leave *something* on. Not that I anticipate her running away - I pray it never happens again and we take much greater care now... but still, things happen.
