I Love Thor Donating Member | It depends on what you want to have done. Blood work is usually more expensive, but a puppy visit and physical costs about $100. I can't remember if that's including shots or not. I can find THors records if you want to tell you specifically |

| When you call to to make your appointment ask them how much are first time visits. The people that work for your vet should be able to tell you exactly what it will cost. If you have other pets some vets will give a discount, my vet does. Remember you'll have to bring a stool sample, so account for that cost. You'll also need heartworm and flea meds too, so add those costs to your total along with any shots that may be due.

| It is usually cheaper than that in South Texas unless it is just an expensive area. Good luck |

| Oh wow, we must have cheaper vets here then. I have recently asked around, and was told 20.00 for physical exam, 8.00 for fecal, and 15 for shots.

| OK let me try this again. Ask your breeder what tests were ran on the parents of your puppy, like bile acid test. You should have a list of questions for your breeder such as how many times she breeds this puppys mother and how often (every heat?). Has she ever had any congenital problems with past litters, hypoglycemia, liver shunt, luxating patellas, etc.? Can you see both parents, are they on site? Do you have to sign a spay/neuter contract or is the puppy already altered? How long is the health guarantee and what if there is a problem? The breeder should also have a list of questions for you, too, such as: are there children or other pets in your home? How long will the puppy be alone during the day if at all? Do you have a vet reference? Are you familiar with yorkies and toy breed dogs? This is completely normal and expected so don't be embarrassed to ask a ton of questions. This helps you and the breeder to ensure you a healthy puppy and to assure her that the puppy is going to a good home.

| But she will probably have a health guarantee that requires the puppy be taken to the vet right away. No time for registration processs. That can take several weeks sometimes. My vet only charges me about thirty dollars for a well puppy visit. |

| I took Max in the next day after getting him to make sure he was disease free. The cost was around $80. No shots were given. The vet did do a fecal exam to check for giardia & coccidia. All was good. He checked his legs & knees, took a temp. Listened to heart & lungs. Ears etc. Spent an hour with me on questions. I think I finally found a Vet I'm going to keep.

| At our vet, it is $35 for the visit, $18 for stool samples and then shots vary. Good luck to you and your new baby.
