What about the ears? I am a new owner of great, new little male yorkie. He seems to be a happy, very playful little guy. Vet checks have all been great. OKAY, here is the question. Both ears came up, one at a time. Now the one that came up first, laid back down after a few days, and then the other one laid down. Well the second ear has come back up and is staying up. The other one has not yet and it has been this way for weeks. My next thought was maybe he was lacking something as far as vitamins. The vet said that he could try to splint it up, but it would probably just make him mad. He will not be a show dog, but I just wondered if there is something that I am not doing right and maybe it is just not in the books that I am reading. Oh Cooper was born on 10/06/06, and I felt like they should be up by this time........Can anyway help this first time owner of a wonderful yorkie!!!!

I am sorry I cannot help you with this question, but my baby was born 11/14/06 and both of his ears have been up since Mid-January, and as of right now they have stayed up. Interesting that they WERE up and then went back down? Hope someone can help out.

Sometimes the require taping but I would say he will be fine. The ears play the up down game until they are done with teething.

Reece is 7 months old and his ears are up to stay I think now..but with teething you can never be too sure..they tend to go up and down until the adult teeth come in..flopping or up they are cute either way!! Dawn

Aww, peeka boo was born on 10/1/06 lol...but you said you're a new owner right? How new? Peeka's ears didn't stand for a little while, maybe the stress of the new home makes them fall. After being with me for 3 or so days one popped up. I started laying him on his back(since leaning back causes his ears to stand up) and massaging his ears at night, and after 2 or so weeks of having him, they popped right up and stayed up. Sometimes one kind of dips at the top but its still up there. Peeka's also famous for making his ears stick out almost horizontally lol...

Thanks for all the replys...... I have had Cooper since November 26th. This is our first Yorkie and I was just worried that he may not be getting something he needs. It is not from a lack of being spoiled by everyone, that's for sure..... Thanks for all the information, it makes me feel alot better about things. Also if anyone knows of any good online shopping sights, please send them to me. The area I live in lacks pet stores. At this point I am 11 miles from Wal Mart and they don't have much if you ask me.
