| small dog put into a deep freezer alive! Saw on the new this afternoon about a small dog that was put into the deep freezer by (5?) teenagers that broke into a home in California. Police found the dog alive! didn't say how long the pup had been in there in the news report...but the kids are being charged with animal cruelty as well as theft and breaking and entering. They'll be out in a week I'll bet. Roxanne in NC |

| I almost didn't open this post. I can't deal with this kind of cruelty. But I did. Thank heavens that poor pup was saved. These kids are potential serial killers IMO. They need psychiatic help. They need to be put into that freezer and forgotten about. Sorry but I have no sympathy in any way for sickos. Sad part is they did it for FUN. Thank you God for watching over that baby. | If they were my kids, they would probably prefer to be in jail. I would beat the daylights out of them! How could any teenager do that to a defenseless animal? Once I got through with the kids, the police might want to come take me away to jail. Honestly, though. I would have to punish my child severely for a stunt like that. All children should know better, and all should be taught better. I could not allow actions like that to go unpunished. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | We have 2 boys in Houston that just VIDEOTAPED teaching their Pitt bull to slaughter a cat - they then posted that same video on My Space - the video was so graphic they couldn't show it on the news the cops who interviewed said NO ONE REPORTED the 'My space' video and it had been viewed many many times - the poor cat was horribly killed and they interviewed both boys - they did nothing but laugh on camera about it. We're raising a bunch of totally insensitive cruel children these days. I know most all of us don't have kids that would ever do anything like this - but there are far too many parents who think nothing of it. I raised my boys to love animals and I can't ever imagine them even laughing at an awful video like that let alone ever doing something so horrible ....but these boys - and I mean BOYS - acted like they just won an Academy Award - Even the reporter was getting pissed. |

| There is definitely something wrong with all those kids!! Is it just with the news and the internet we hear about these horrible people more now, or are people just more horrible now? Sometimes I get very afraid when I hear about these "children" and the things they do, it really is very very scary!!

| Here is the story. (Also, one article I read said it was barely alive when they found it in the freezer hours later.) There is a picture of the little pup if you click on the link at the bottom of this page. Shivering Chihuahua Found In SoCal Freezer After Burglary A man and four boys were facing possible charges of animal cruelty and burglary Thursday after allegedly burglarizing a Lancaster home, where a Chihuahua was found alive in a freezer. The dog was discovered when deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff's Station went to the 3300 block of East Avenue K-3 about 9 a.m. Wednesday on a report of a burglary in progress, the sheriff's department reported. Donald Irvin of Lancaster and four male juveniles were arrested inside or near the residence and were booked for burglary, cruelty to animals and receiving stolen property, the sheriff's department reported. As deputies were investigating the burglary, the woman who lives in the house came home and told deputies that her Chihuahua was missing. Deputies searched the residence, and found the animal in an "industrial" freezer. "It was shivering," said Lt. Wallace Fullerton. The homeowner, whose husband is serving in the Air Force in Afghanistan, said Roxy the Chihuahua is 2 years old. "I got home and found that they had broken in and taken several things, and locked my dog in our freezer," said Kimberly Holzer, who is pregnant with twins. "She seems to be doing ok. We went to the vet today and they said everything was good. "I don't even know what I'd say to those people. I don't understand what would even make you think of putting her in the freezer. She's so defenseless." Holzer said the intruders also urinated on clothes in her closet, including maternity clothes she received for Christmas. http://www.nbc11.com/news/10913023/detail.html

| Here is another article: Chihuaha OK after burglars put her in freezer Gideon Rubin Los Angeles Daily News Feb. 2, 2007 10:28 AM LANCASTER, Calif. - Roxy was still shivering Thursday -- the tiny Chihuahua was OK, but the day before had spent hours in a freezer, dumped there by burglars annoyed by her barking as they rifled her family's Lancaster home. The 2-year-old dog stayed close to her mistress, Kimberly Holzer, whose own tears streamed down her face. "I know why they did it," Holzer said. "They probably just wanted to shut her up, but it boggles my mind that they would throw an animal into a freezer." "It was just really cruel." A team of five burglars broke into Holzer's house Wednesday morning while she was at work. A neighbor saw youths jumping the fence, called the Lancaster sheriff's station, and five suspects were arrested a short time later. Holzer, who is pregnant with twins and whose Air Force husband is stationed in Afghanistan, was notified at work and asked her mother to check on Roxy. "That was my main concern," Holzer said. Sheriff's deputies searched the home exhaustively and were about to leave, having assumed Roxy had run away. Then, on a whim, Deputy Melissa Sullivan checked the large freezer next to the living room and found the frigid Chihuahua, barely alive. "I don't know why I decided to open it," Sullivan said. "I really didn't think people could be so cruel. It was disgusting." Roxy immediately was taken to a veterinarian, who gave her a clean bill of health. Five suspects -- Devean Irvin, 20, and four juveniles, all from Lancaster -- were arrested at the house or nearby, deputies said. They were booked on suspicion of animal cruelty, burglary and receiving stolen property. Thousands of dollars worth of items had been taken from the house, most of it recovered at a house a block away. Holzer said Roxy remained traumatized, noting that the normally independent dog follows her wherever she goes and is fearful of strangers. "I don't even know what to say at this point," Holzer said. "Everything in my house, whatever's damaged, whatever's lost, is stupid replaceable stuff, but she's not." http://www.azcentral.com/offbeat/art...eze02-ON.html#

| Did I read that right ... they URINATED on her maternity clothes? OMG those little sh*ts!! I just have to say this. If someone ever did that to one of MY babies, I would handle them myself AFTER everything died down. I would never allow anyone to get away with that, EVER. First I would let the law handle them. Then some time later, I would handle them all one at a time MY WAY.
