![]() OMG Yorkiemalt. I am so happy that Phoebi is OK. How horrible! I hope those people are paying for the Vet bills? ...anyway to the OP - First, Yorkiemalt is awesome! She can really answer any questions about LP - she is a great gal ![]() Second about my experience: I just went thru LP surgery with Roxy. $3000 for both rear legs at the same time. Her left leg did not stablize and we just finished the recovery for that 2nd surgery $600. Both legs are now stablized. TJ her 1/2 brother - also needs to have LP surgery in both rear legs. His will be in the summer when we have the $ for it. hahaha ![]() We live in NY and everything here is expensive. I have also heard that some never need the surgery and some areas the surgery is not as expensive. Roxy and TJ are our world. We would some how find a way for anything they need. We are their parents and they are our children. The love that is shared has NO PRICE TAG. Sometimes I cry thinking about what if I never got these two. I cry thinking that they could of gone to someone that doesn't give a s*** about their health and well being. Then I cry for all those babies out their suffering b/c there are so many non-caring people who think they are good pet owners. Sorry for rambling on.... I truly wish you all the best in whatever you decide. If you want to talk more about the LP surgery, I am here. P.S. Recovery wasn't as scarey as I made it all up to be. ![]() ![]() P.S.S. If it were me, I'd keeo her, get the refund $ from the store and apply it to any Vet bills! Good Luck ![]()

![]() I wouldn't let her go back to the pet store. If you are unable to keep her, please make sure that she goes to a good home that is aware of her problems and willing to see her through whatever comes. ![]()

![]() I'm so sorry to hear about Tia's Lp. I haven't had experience with that, my yorkie had liver shunts (2 to be exact). I think if the store will refund your money you should keep her. That is more than my seller agreed to do with my yorkie with the liver shunts. He wanted me to give him back so he could put him to sleep. I agree with what was said earlier on here, who will love Tia? Chances are that she would go to someone who wouldn't try and fix her and she would be euthanized. I also believe that dogs come to us for a purpose. I don't know that much about Lp, but from what I've read it is fixable. The joke around my family is that if a dog has a problem God gives it to me because He knows that I'll try and fix it. I have dealt with epilepsy with 2 of my dogs, inguina hernias, allergy scratch tests and shots, 2 cruciate replacements, 2 liver shunt surgeries and panosteoitis. It has been costly over the years, but I have never regretted the money spent on any of them. They have given me back more than I ever could have spent on them! Each one has been special and I feel lucky that I had the opportunity to save them. I say take the chance on her. Take the money and put it in a savings acct and add to it every month. Also, you can look into pet insurance. Good luck.
