| You won't know anything until you look at the pup. If she doesn't fit your idea of what you want in your yorkies that are for breeding then pass on her, only you will know if she fits your criteria. As for the ears, I think she is still young and they could go up when she gets older. When I got Scampers at 12 weeks old they were floppy. A week later I shaved them and taped them and to this day, at over a year old, his ears stay up. Scampers weighed 2.5 pounds at 12 weeks and now weighs 5.5 pounds. I would say 3 pounds at 12 weeks is a good weight but it is hard to know for sure. Good luck with whatever you decide!!

| My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Well. I went to look and yes I had money in hand. The house was beautiful. newer home, large, land, sat way back...just real sharp. I rang the doorbell. She opens the door and asks me to come and sit on the couch while she brings the girl to me. As I entered I was greeted by a horrible order. Her house Stank !!! Totally dirty and cluttered. It smelled. (But it was a newer home )So anyways, she brought me the pup. Just one pup. Seems she is selling it for her friend who lives up north and has a hard time seeling her pups there. So...that means I can't see mom or dad. Red Flag. So the pup is real cute!!!! Ears were floppy but I think with continual taping they will go up as they were heading that way. She was pretty big. She said she weighed 3 pounds but who knows? I asked her about her dogs, and instead of taking me to see them.. (she had 8 in her kitchen and ??? in an outdoor housing area/garage/builing/kennel) she pulled out a phot albulm to show me pics instead. Red Flag Then the whole having to wait for the AKC papers doesn't set well with me. Red Flag I give mine with the dog...I don't make buyers wait. The pup seemed healthy, happy and very cute, but she was dirty too. She stunck too, and felt dirty. She needed a bath . I took my fingers and held up the hair on her head to see how long her hair was up there and she went " whats that? I don't like that. I like them to look neat" and ran her hand over the girls head to smooth it all back down. Geesh, I was only trying to see the length on the top of her head! Sooo......I walked out of there pup-less. I didn';t have that warm fuzzy feeling and I didn't care for her, and although I loved the pup...I know I need to make right choices now and not just go on the 'cute' factor. So too many red flags and I just didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling. What do you think?????????????????????? |

| I think you made the right decision!! There was to many red flags and since you are looking for a female to breed you need to be picky. When the right female comes along you will know she is the one.

| No Longer a Member | I think you made the right choice. Sounds to me like something fishy was going on with that paper situation. It is never wrong to go with your gut. It is easy to be tempted by a lower price (after all, we are not made of money LOL). When I was looking for my first, there was one breeder I called, who dropped her price down to 650, but they were males and I wanted a female. She was so pushing for me to buy them (this was on the phone, I wasn't even there yet) and even hinted at lowering the price. It just didn't sit well with me. I kept thinking there had to be something wrong (healthwise or something) with those puppies. So I just kept my focus on what I want. PS, Chloe's ears were flopped until about that time, and they perked up on their own. |
