| Gestation Hello..I hope I'm doing this right. I'm trying to find out if my yorkie is expecting. She should be about 5 weeks, but she still doesn't look pregnant to me. It's been so long since I've had a litter and every pregnancy is different. This is a first time mother who is 2 years old. Her teats are a little pink and I've palpated for lumps. What are some signs of early pregnancy or midway marks? Someone, anyone. |

| Wish I could help but I don't have a clue. You for sure think that her 'visit' was successful?

| I witnessed a tie on the 10th, 11th, and 12th days after the beginning of her heat cycle. I didn't want to breed her any further apart than that because her mother had a detached placenta in September with six pups and I lost them all. I had her mother spayed because she was predisposed for hypocalcemia and I didn't want her to go through any other complications. I guess I'll have to keep watching ....I've been raising yorkies for about 4 years, but there is still much to learn and I'm a nurse. Thanks for your reply and any further info. you might have. |

| signs and wonders You should start to see something in the next week if she is...belly will swell. Also, a clear discharge is a very positive sign. Whispersmom is a an RN and she can tell you when to listen for heartbeats...PM her. |
