| I've always liked the darker colored yorkies. The ones with the silver, grey, and blonde colors are just as pretty, but I like the dark teddybear look. A few people & breeders told me if there's a hint of lighter color on the chest and face, that color will come thru as they get older. I don't know how true it is though. They just recommended I pick the darkest one out the litter. I then decided it didn't matter as long as they had some dark features. Good luck finding your baby, I think your question might get answered better in the breeder category.

| I'm not sure but with black poodle puppies, they say that if there is any white or silver hairs showing around their paw pads, it will most likely turn silver and not stay a solid black. I just know that from my search of a poodle many years ago. That said, Tatum's mom is very light silver with a very light tan face. Her dad is very black with a red/gold face. Tatum has turned out to be mostly black with silver/gray streaks and a mostly red/gold face. You just never know! I don't remember any light spots on her when she was a baby but she was very black when she was little.... as most Yorkie puppies are.

| I think the best way you can ensure that is if both the parents are black and gold. If only one is they could take after one parent or another. Chachi and Jewels both look like their mothers tan and silver

| I think that is accurate. Muffin was black and gold and so were both of her parents. This time, however, I intentionally wanted a different color. Just thought it was best for me, ya know?

| Wesley is black and gold. I didn't see pics of his parents until after I bought him. His father is dark just like he is. I knew he was going to stay dark because he was jet black and brown all the way down to his skin at 12+ weeks. Maddie is very light silver. I haven't seen pics of her parents. When we went to see her we knew she was going to be light because her silver was already growing in at 12 weeks. I would say it is best to see the parents, but also to look at the pup. If there is any light showing, then it will probably turn light. |
