| layla has the SAME reaction to shots.. had i seen this thread sooner i would have asked you if she had a shot in the last month... laylas took forever to go away and when i first found it i freaked out..i was so upset i had to get someone else to call the vet.. but over the course of about 5 weeks it slowly went down... she has very bad reactions to shots so i know to get ready for it again! also keep in mind they do bruise like we do! we just have more "meat" on our body otherwise ours would feel like a bump too.. SO glad you got it figured out and now you can breathe easier! |

| Let me first say thank you to all for your response and thoughts. I took Evie in this morning for her spay and asked the vet again about the lump... he said it could take up to a couple of months for it to go away, but just to watch it. I left her there for her surgery and headed to work. They were going to spay her, pull a couple of baby teeth, and do a full blood work exam. He said if I do not call you, that is a good sign. But, he did....he said her blood work came back and her levels were off and the percentage of her platelets were off as well. He said he did not feel good about doing the surgery this morning because of this and also her being so tiny he just did not want to chance anything. He said he was going to draw some more and send it off to the lab for extensive exam. He said I should not worry, but I am. I should know something soon on the extensive blood work. I just pray she is okay and nothing wrong. Thanks again for your words. Courtney |

| Oh my goodness, I hope it is nothing serious. Maybe just an infection that they can clear up with antibiotics. I hope she's better soon.

| We also felt a lump on Ginger's tummy several months ago and I was very scared. I was expecting for the worst since the lump was hard but on the other hand, i was thinking that it might not be that bad because she was still young (a year and 1/2 during that time). Anyways, I took her to the vet. The vet made a thorough examination but she sais she cannot tell until we get a sample from my baby. The vet obtained a sample of the specimen thru needle aspiration. There was no anesthesia and I can tell that my baby did good. After several days, the vet called me and I was told it was just a benign lump, no need for surgery but will just continue to observe. Right now, we don't feel the lump anymore in her tummy. Goodluck, and I hope it was nothing bad. Keep up informed. |

| I posted a similar thread and I wanted to check with everyone- Oliver got his rabies (and other shots) a week and a half ago. Now he had this quarter/nickle sized bump on his hind quarters! It is hard to the touch but doesn't seem to bother him when I press it. Does this sound like a shot reaction???? It's been three days since I noticed it

| A few weeks after my original post, Evie's lump went away. My vet said it was the shot. Just keep an eye out and watch it. If it seems to hurt to touch or gets larger - I would call the vet, otherwise, it IS probably just a reaction to the shot. Courtney |

| I just posted about a lump that sounds kind of similar to what Bella had. I took her in and they found that it was a hernia. I brought her back two days later and they did the surgery. It was a very simple surgery...she was in at 8:30 and I had her home by noon. Just a thought, but maybe that is what your baby has. I hope all goes well. Keep us posted.

| Well, her lab work came back negative also so he gave her a round of antibiotics and liquid vitamins (for anemia). We did that for 10 days and they rechecked her again prior to rescheduling her surgery. All blood work came back good. She had her surgery and she has recovered very well. No problems at all. Thanks for your concern. Courtney |
