| Have you measured your dog's tail? Is it missing? Just wondering here about tail lengths. Cookie's tail is docked but it is so short! I noticed how short it was after we got Mimi andher tail is also docked but twice as long! I just went and measured it and it's barely 1" long It looks even shorter than that! lol I could feel that the tip is squared off. Mimi's is more pointy but not that short! I saw a Yorkie with an undocked tail and it was really long! Curled up high like a cat's tail. How short is your yorkie's tail? Just curious here Genie |

| Hi Genie Stewie's tail is about 2.25 inches I'd guess. He's not in front of me right now so I can't measure, but that sounds right. I think its the perfect length. It doesn't look like a little stub. I like the look of the undocked tail.

| I just felt Schatzie's since she is laying her next to me. (oh boye did she look at me funny, like "what the heck are you doing with my tail??") Anyway, it seems to be a little over an inch not counting hair length. With her tail hair it's about 6 inches.

| Milo's tail in about 1 1/2 long. I like their docked tails. It makes them look like a little fluff ball. They dock it because it's the AKC standard. Here's a post about the ani tail docking: There is a website created by the Anti-Dociking Alliance. It shows pictures of many different breeds of dogs whose tails are usually docked with tails. Here is the link to the picture site: http://www.anti-dockingalliance.co.uk/page_5.htm On that site, scroll down to the yellow box titled "Toy" #6 is the Yorkie. Click on all the links under Yorkie, including the words Yorkshire Terrier. The links take you to a page of one or more pictures of Yorkies with tails. They are adorable!

| I have heard that breeders have stopped docking tails in Britian. My vet said that local vets here are trying to get it stopped. If I ever decide to breed Mya would not dock her puppies tails. |

| Milo - thanks for the link. I love the way Rotties look with their tails! Adorable! I've always wondered what they're supposed to look like.

| Jack's tail is a little over 1" long, or should I say short. When the groomer worked on him last week she cut the hair into a point, and with it being black on the top and light tan on the bottom it really stands out. I wish I could get a picture but he is quite a modest guy when it comes to his rear end.

| Cookie is over a year old already and to be honest it's been this length since Igot him . The only thing that has grown is the girth of the little nub lol It's very ,very short. I keep the hair on his tail very short and also shave the entire butt area lol . Genie |

| I have just measured Pip's tail and it is seven inches from the base to the tip plus another inch of hair. The hair is long and fans like the pic on the link. |

| Wow! Yorkie tails are so pretty, I wonder why they dock 'em? Fred's tail is a little nub, too and it's growning little by little. It looks like its 1 1/2 inches long now. |
