|  Maybe her little dog provides security and comfort for her. My Grandparents had a little chi/poodle that was the meanest, nastiest little dog, even to them, but they loved him dearly so we all respected that and never tried to change things...it's what worked for them. They brought Pee-Wee to every family function, on every ride to the store or fast food drive thru because he couldn't go in a restaurant. There could be a whole host of reasons for her actions and maybe she doesn't feel comfortable discussing them with anyone. Maybe she needs the emotional support her little dog provides, maybe at her age she fears traveling far from home, maybe she no longer feels comfortable in crowds or can tolerate the noise. You say she doesn't have anything to play a DVD or tape on even if you sent them to her. Maybe that would make a nice gift...they're very inexpensive now. You could make a day trip to visit her and bring it as a surprize with a DVD of your daughter and show her how to use it...you could visit and watch it together. |
