| What to do? Evie no play. Our little Evie (who is 6mo old) does not want to play. We got her on Christmas Day. She has a TON of toys. We get down in the floor with her and try to play; however, she just looks at us like....what are you doing. She will smell them and then walk away. I am worried about her exercise and play time. We have a two story house and the only real exercise she is getting is coming up the stairs. She just want to be held or just lay beside one of us. What do I do? |

| I don't know how to help her play other than what you are doing. I had a Pom once who would only play with one little toy and nothing else. I had to keep replacing that little squeeky bird. I bought him lots of things but he wouldn't play with any of them but the bird. He also loved to lay by you and just rest. I took him on long walks to make sure he got enough exercize. He never changed and we buried his birdy with him when he died at 12. |

| dogs are all different, brandi loves her toys and ball but zac and tye dont like toys, but i found 2 games they like, i put a cover over them and say wheres he gone then grab them through the cover and they love it, or i play bite them, blow on them or blow a raspberry on them. sasha didnt like toys and would look at me like i was mad if i tried to get her play with toys but she had her own games she liked, id pretend my hand was a spider crawling up her back or a bee going in her ear, and for some strange reason she wouldnt play with a ball but would play with a sweety (still in its wrapper) lol. you just have to find what it is they like to play

Courtney, Annika is the same way . . . she is not as rambunctious as my Tiger. But since Tiger can be an instigator, she will just follow suit. But if it was just her, she will gladly just lay on a pillow right beside me and sleep or stare at me while I work. Some furbabies aren't just hyper . . . they are total lap dogs I think the best way to entertain her is getting her a brother | |

| I agree with all the above post. Some dogs are just like that. Keep trying with squeaky toys, my Zoe goes crazy over anything that squeaks or is a ball that rolls and bounces. Maybe being around other dogs that love to play will help. if you are concerned about exercise (once she is up to date on all shots that is) take her on long walks and then to a dog park. |

| Muffin was the same way Courtney. We bought everything & anything & she'd barely glance at them. Then one day I bought a small, furry animal (I think he was a raccoon, if memory serves me correctly!) with a squeaker in it & that was FINALLY what got her interested! She was just very...uh....selective about her toys I guess. Ever since then, anything small, furry & squeaky is cool with her & nothing else. Don't worry about it. Just keep trying & you'll probably stumble upon something that Evie will love along the way! CJ

| Well, I FINALLY found something. I went to store close by (prestigiouspets.com) and I explained to the owner the problem I was having. She suggested this little small stuffed toys with long arms (for chewing). She has 3 yorkies and said these all worked for them. I took it home and OMG she loved it We played for a good while and it was a lot of fun to see that side of her that I have not seen yet. Thank you all for your help and suggestions. BTW, Des I would love to have another little one, but my husband would KILL me (HAHA). He says one is enough for us (I like to spend too much $ on her). Thanks, Courtney |
