| I would definately say spay her. Even if she is not pregnant now you don't want to worry about this every time she goes into heat, as I'm guessing your mom will continue to watch her. |

| first of all it can happen, my first male yorkie tried mating with a gsd female, he got on the sofa and she backed up to it we were in the room so nothing happened but it just goes to show wheres theres a will theres a way . a friend of mine had a jack cross gsd. the vet could tell in a couple of weeks if she was pregant, my vet could feel sasha (yorkie) was pregant after 2 weeks and that was by another yorkie. sasha also started putting on weight within a couple of weeks so there are other ways of telling if shes pregant.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | My yorkies last heat she had false pregnancy. I was told by my Vet not to spay her at the time becuase it would make systems even worse.

| oops... I wouldn't panic just yet...I think the chances are very slim she is pregnant. Most pregnant bitches show no signs until the 4 or 5th week..and it starts slowly...teets do not swell that much at first. Good Luck |

Chloe's Mom-- I think that you have made a wise decision to have your girl spayed and you are to be commended for stepping up to the plate and deciding to do what is the best interest of your girl. There are so many bad owners out there who would just 'let nature take its course' that it is refreshing to see someone taking a proactive approach to solving the problem. And think of it this way, after she is spayed, you will NEVER have to worry yourself over this problem again! Good luck! | |
