I have two 14 year old cat, my female tolerate her but my male is more patient, with my Pheobe sometimes he gets tirey of her, but omg she loves them very much.

ABSOLUTELY! Stedman LOVES our cat Brinkley (alot more than Brinkley loves him, lol). They play CONSTANTLY! They are great friends though, and really...Stedman is ALOT more rough with the cat than the cat is with him. It is so funny to watch them play

Funny that you mentioned that because they have just opened a new gated community near us and we went looking around the other day. It is very nice, but DH is reluctant to give up our land. A strong Home Owner's Association sounds like such a good idea sometimes, though!

I don't let ours stay out if they are bark and would never let them run loose, but that does not seem to be the unamimous decision of all our road's pet owners. They are nice folks too and to tell the truth, it is not worth causing trouble to complain. But I can grouse about it a little here

Can cats even be trained to stay in their own yards? Anyone know?

I take Howie to my parent's house pretty regularly and they have 2 cats. He's almost a year old and still has NO CLUE what the cats are!!! He knows they're not toys, and he knows they're not dogs, but hmmmmm what the heck are they?!?! Sometimes he'll sniff at one for a minute and then start this really incessant nervous bark. Naturally, the cats don't like him very much on account of this!!

To answer the post above (sorry I forgot to quote): I think cats stay wherever they're happy. My mom's cats go outside and will roam for a certain radius and then come right back. They know where the food is!! I, personally, don't think kitties are loyal to humans the way dogs are. (There may be some exceptions, but I've never witnessed it.) If Howie got lost, he wouldn't be happy in a new home with the right plate of food. The cats on the other hand, would be pleased as punch as long as they got their Meow Mix.

My 2 Maine Coon cats (Mika, 8 and Tallulah, 6) get along great with the 2 dogs (Cozy, Yorkie, 9 Months and Lucky, 8, Golden Retriever). The Cats have a love hate relationship with each other though.

I'm not a fan of cats, so Rocky has never really had any experience with them. I don't think he would like them though. At the petstores if he see's rabbits that are bigger then him he still gets mad and crazy, so I assume it would be the same with cats.

Whenever my little guy sees one when we are out he wants to go up to them but they will run away or hiss at him. I guess they don't want to be friends.

Yes...they love to terroize them! I have a 22 lb Male Maine Coon and the girls WILL NOT leave him alone! Lillie saw McKenzi from the inside of her playpen, which I would put her in if the cat was in the same room...He is 12 yrs old and kinda grumpy...the cat doesn't pay much attention to the girls but, it only takes one of them to bark at the cat and they both go after him...Poor McKenzi! I am constantly putting him in other rooms just to give him some peice and quiet...People tell me to let him swat them and they will learn but, as we all know....yorkies just go back for the fight and I am not going to let him rip out an eyeball!
