Administrator | We have no idea whether or not there is a Miko or whether or not she is trying to scam YorkieTalk members. What we DO KNOW is that she posted under a separate account of joana, to try to gain sympathy for her cause and to say joana donated to Miko, when in fact she was joana. It is against YorkieTalk rules to have more than one account per person. When one uses multiple accounts to start lying and trying to gain sympathy, that is just plain evil in our opinion. This is why we don't allow solicitations for donations for Yorkies here at YorkieTalk, whether they are long-time members or new members. It is impossible for verify a person's claim in every instance, as a person could be directly affiliated with a vet to try to make money. Also, there ARE scammers out there on the Internet, as we have seen in the past, they have even come onto YorkieTalk to try to sell Yorkies. We believe it is in our members best interest to try to protect everyone from scammers, which is one reason we ask all sellers of Yorkies to fill out quite a long form, which includes a name and phone number. Also, if we do start allowing solicitations for money, YorkieTalk will just become a place where one person after another posts sob stories to try to make money from YorkieTalk members. We can't have that. If you personally feel you want to donate to any particular member's cause, just please PM them privately and arrange payment that way. That is perfectly fine, but solicitation for donations in public posts or in PMs is simply not allowed here. What you do with your money is your choice, we don't want to see anyone scammed in any way. Apparently, kami999 feels like she DESERVES to come onto YorkieTalk, being a completely new member, and solicit for donations. We told her nicely a few times that soliciting for donations was not allowed here, but apparently she feels she is above the rules and is better than everyone else who does follow them. We had allowed her thread to be kept open, as we felt that all Yorkies deserve support when there is a need. When a member mentioned looking into the joana account, we did find out they were the same person. She also did not have much respect for the YorkieTalk community or YT staff. After much consideration, both kami999 and joana accounts have been banned forever. If there is a Miko there that needs medical help, we sincerely hope that Miko does recover, as we hope all Yorkies that are in serious medical situations do. But we at YorkieTalk can not be responsible for the financial aspects of any Yorkie's medical care. There are options, which many members have mentioned, such as CareCredit, credit cards, or personal loans from family available. Please consider this situation closed. Thank you. |
