| Well, we've been growing Sissy's since she was last trimmed at 7 months (now 17 months) and it is barely 1/2 way there. I would hate to cut a floor-length coat that I had worked so hard on - maybe go 1/2 way between a floor length and puppy cut and see how that goes. Then, if they are still having issues go shorter. If not, you get a happy medium. Good luck with whatever you decide.

| I went through the same dilemma with Travers. He had a long beautiful coat, not quite to the floor, but he wears belly bands a lot and it would get really smelly with all that long hair. When we got him he had a puppy cut and I couldn't wait for it to grow out. But, besides the above reasons, he hates to be brushed and it was torture for him with the long hair. So, finally last week I cut him down, but I left his face long. My family thinks he looks weird, but he is still cute. I think it is a good compromise. He is much happier and much easier to bathe and brush. Just my 2 cents, Nancy |

| Jadens been in a puppy cute for a little while and I'm starting to grow out his coat now. Its not been much of a problem as his coat is a silky one so it just lays down flat. I do love the puppy cuts I think they are incredibly cute and think Jaden does look more like a puppy in his "puppy cut" I'm going to grow his hair out for a while and once I get a full coat I'll probably eventually go back to a shorter cut with him. The longer cutes are gorgeous but you have to remember what works for YOUR dog. If they are really active and its getting in their way and they'd be happier ina puppy cut I say GO FOR IT! Hair always does grow back and in the meantime they can enjoy playing without all that hair getting in their way |

| Sounds like they are happy doggies and have lots of fun together! I can see how long hair would be hard to keep up, so they might be good candidates for puppy cuts.....Maybe you could have the best of both worlds if you got a good professional photo of them looking their very best before the puppy cuts???? |

| Kathryn, your two little princesses sound like two little tomboys! Being drug around by your hair must really hurt! Are we ever satisfied? Buddy has been in a puppy cost since he was 6mos old. Now after almost 3yrs I have deceided to try and grow it out. We have a long way to go but I would like to see him with a longer coat. I like what Stedsman's mommy did. Modify it. Keep it alittle long and have the hair around the face alittle shorter. Try that before you cut it off and cry your eyes out. Post pictures when you deceide. Carol & Buddy |

| To be totally honest! Even in short hair... they will still drag each other around by the coat! lol And suprisingly... they have never squealed over it!!! And now the do it to chynna! What LITTLE hair that poor dog has! They get ahold of and YANK! lol, but Chynna can take it and dish it out! having a puppy around has infused the girls with ten pounds of puppy and they have totlly reverted! which is fine by me... they are too much fun to watch... three puppies! Running a muck! Its the damage they do... it would not be as noticeable in short hair... but in a longer coat you see all of it!!! UGH! But this morning... I'm out with them going potty.. well they were going potty, not me! And the wind was blowing...pixie was a vision! Her hair is 8 1/2 inches long, and she is only 7 inches tall! the hair in her head is 6 1/2 inches long and it was not pulled up.... it was all flying in the wind! so beautiful... Then I thought... ugh... thats going to be an itch to brush out! lol

| I keep Topher in a puppy cut now, except for his face which I keep a bit longer and I make sure he still has his topknot. The hair on his body is short enough to manage and not be a pain to brush. He can run, play, roll around and it's so easy to take care of...and he still looks precious. Sophie is getting a short cut on Tuesday...her puppy fur is just getting too long and knotting all the time...mostly because she loves to wear clothes. I know she'll be alot happier with the shorter hair. It's up to you and the long hair is gorgeous, but I can't imagine the time it must take to maintain it. |

| I love the puppy cut. Ferdie will probably always be in a puppy cut. I agree with everyone else though - I wouldn't cut it all off at once! Or you'll be depressed about it if you hate it...... or maybe you'll love it!

| I've decided to meet in the middle.... Paris is getting a Puppy Cut and Pixie is staying long! Pixie has the silky hair and is much easier to hide the damage... Paris has the cotton coat, and her hair is just a total mess! So.... I think that this will be a nice happy medium! What do you think???
