Well, we've been growing Sissy's since she was last trimmed at 7 months (now 17 months) and it is barely 1/2 way there. I would hate to cut a floor-length coat that I had worked so hard on - maybe go 1/2 way between a floor length and puppy cut and see how that goes. Then, if they are still having issues go shorter. If not, you get a happy medium. Good luck with whatever you decide.
