How many of you give Nutri-Cal on regular basis?

Our guys are so tiny I worry myself to death over them choking! Jaden got a bully stick for Christmas and was chomping on it and started gagging and totally freaked me out. I ran over to him and pulled the little bit out of his mouth and he stopped but I was like...jeez, what if I hadn't been there? Would he be able to get it out on his own? Then after hearing her story I was like ok, no more treats while mommy is away! LOL Jaden was like "Greeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaattttttt " He won't eat his dry food if I'm not home either and Jewelina is the pickiest eater I have to pick up all the dry food she tosses out of her bowl when she's done! Anyway, I found putting their dry food in a kong with a little bit of peanutbutter seems to keep them occupied and there's no choking hazards..maybe someone else can come up with some more ideas like your pupperoni one.

As much as I respect veterinarians and MDs, we are ultimately responsible for our own as well as our dog's health so that's why I always insist upon knowing the WHYS. That's REALLY horrible that you and Pia had to go through that. Although I think it's a miracle that you got such an excellent vet at the ER that night. I'm glad little Pia is doing so much better and that she pulled through so well. I can now understand your "it's better safe than sorry" thinking with her.
