| Ugh, I hate that comment I really hate when people ask me if they can use Deegan as a stud, or ask why I don't breed him! I'm with you Kimber's Mom, I believe that people who know what they are doing and take it as a responsibility should be the breeders. Not the people who just want to make money off of the animals! That's why there's so many puppymills out there and pet stores full of sick and neglected animals.

| I can't believe people look at our beloved babies as "breeding" machines and money makers. I had a friend who got a Shih Tzu pup from a friend and wanted to breed her for the $$$ ... she eventually had her spayed and did not breed her, but she knew nothing about breeding ... whatever was she thinking???

I also love how suddenly when I was getting a yorkie she had "always wanted one" - she even got a calendar with them! I had been friends with her for 6 years and she had never mentioned yorkies before - she had a begian freise (I have no idea how to spell that)... anyway! haha

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I have people in my own family who can't believe I didn't breed my girls - they just don't get it. I could never lose them to birth ...they're my babies and I just couldn't take the chance ....but people don't understand that - they see yorkie puppies = making money |

| That's the problem with the incredible popularity of this breed. People start thinking of it as a quick way to make a buck or feel they must breed if they want an other dog, just to afford it. All of these novice breeders are the worse thing that could happen to the breed and one of the reasons that the look of the yorkie is getting so diverse!

| I have a male and female (still puppies) and people are always asking if I got them to breed. Actually I am interested in breeding if everything comes together over the next 18-24 months. But, I bought them TO LOVE! That is my answer. I have explained that I might breed them in the distant future but there are way too many things to consider first -- see how they grow up, testing to be done, so much for me to LEARN. I hope I will breed Yorkies someday, but I have no illusions that they will make me tons of money. Knowing me, I will want to keep the puppies too and then I will really be in the red -- but HAPPY.
