Hi Layla' Mom Gin-Gin does the same thing with me quite often. I just make sure that I carry a treat with me on our walks and when she grabs something that I do not want her to have, I just pull out a treat and say "drop it" and she does and then I give her a treat and let her know what a good girl she was for letting Mommy have it. Hope this helps. Lynn and Gin-Gin

i can't believe i didn't think of that... we went to Obedience and LEARNED that.. i think i was so upset that she had something in her mouth that she shouldn't have i dind't even think to pull out the treat and say drop it.. thank you so much! glad that i'm not alone because otherwise she is such a perfect dog. it's just with some things (ie. bully sticks) she gets so possesive... thanks so much!

Layla's Mom You're quite welcome. By the way, your little babydog is really cute. Please know that I am not an expert on yorkshires, but just like a human mommy, I go by instincts with my babydog. She really is like a two year old and always into everything, but she is the love of my life. Glad that I could be of help. Lynn and Gin-Gin

I'm sorry that you saw a side of Layla that was upsetting. I don't know how to stop a little dog from misbehaving as my Debbie will bite me if I go to pick her up when she doesn't want me to. I just go get my gloves on and there is no problem. I have to ask you how you could walk by an old chicken bone every day and not pick it up and throw it in the trash where it belongs. It seems to me that would have been easier than having to keep an eye on Layla everytime you passed by it. I don't mean to sound rude but it's easier to prevent things like this than have to deal with them later.

i suppose picking them up would have been easier... we are vacationing in a sub division where those things are supposed to be taken care of so i think each day we expect it to just be gone! there were 4 others the first day and they have been picked up so i half expected this one to be gone too! tomorrow i take a plastic bag with me!!!

| Layla is so cute. Kodak will try to grab something and run or snarl at my mom or someone else. But once I yell "that's no Kodak, drop it boy", he releases it. Then I may give him a treat, but I think he fears my voice. When he's really snarling (in heat) at someone who trys to make him mind or take something, I don't reward him. I tell him no and let him look sad for a minute so he will know not to do it.
