| New puppy owner questions Hi everyone. I am getting my mother a Yorkie for New Year's, but since neither one of us ever owned a puppy, I have some questions. First, what do I need to buy before bringing my Yorkie home? I would appreciate a list of basic supplies. Also, I have a 7 month old Himalayan kitten, should I expect there to be any issues when I bring the puppy home? The kitten is very social and extremely passive. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks! |

| Expect there to be some hissing and anti social behavior on the part of the cat, but once they get used to each other they should be able to co-exist. You will need a crate a blanket a food and water dish what ever dog food he is currentldfy eating a leash a harness some toys a lap for him to sit on an expen or baby gate to keep him confined to a hard surface floor. If you are going to train to pee pads, then you need the pee pads. A book on yorkshire terriers shampoo conditioner a brush and comb a toothbrush and tooth paste some nutrical or karo syrup for the first week |

| Welcome! the only thing I could add is to bring a blankie with you when you go get the baby and get the scent of the litter mates.. this really helped Hopey when I got her... she held on to the blankie for a long time before I finally had to wash it... good luck! You will find so much helpful information here on YT! d
