| Kinda OT: Dog names - need help We will be getting an Australian Shepherd pup in about 6 weeks or so. Tatum is just going to love her so much! Tatum loves playing with my husband's uncle's border collie and generally any other big dogs I allow her to play with so I know they'll get along great. My husband has been wanting this dog for so long but had to wait until the new house was finished. He found a breeder near Dallas that had a litter coming and we have been back and forth with her - all of us excited about this "transaction". Well, she was born last Friday and now he's driving me nuts trying to come up with a name. This is a red merle female and he wants to come up with a name that is Western Movie themed. Well, I don't watch that kind of stuff so I'm hopeless with suggestions. He wants names like "Hondo" and "Miss Kitty". First of all, Hondo is male and if we called "Miss Kitty", all the cats would come running. So, any western movies buffs out there?? I could really use some help or we're going to have one weird named dog running around!

| Angie, I will ask Tom, he loves that western stuff. I bet he can come up with something good. I can only think of Annie Oakley for a girl! Hugs to Tatum from Rio, he too thinks big dogs are the best!!! |

| Okay, you're doing great! I have to take everyone's word for it since I don't know western movies at all but I'll run some of these by him. Keep 'em coming though! I think so far my favorite is Blaze. I was thinking about the red merle aspect and thought of "Scarlett" from Gone With the Wind but I'm not really sure you'd consider that a "western" really. I eagerly await more ideas... By the way, the reason he's going "western" is for the most part because him and his uncle do chuckwagon cooking competition plus he really likes western movies. Just in case you wanted some background!
