| My Yorkie likes his food CRUNCHY! I know you must be like CRUNCHY! Ok i changed Rocky's food from Natural Balance to Nutro Max and i always used to mix up his dry food with a little bit of water so it wont be to hard on him to chew. But when i made this change i noticed he wouldnt eat it so i bought another brand Nutro puppy i think it is these little kibbles are also hard and he didnt like that either. So one day i decided to give him the Nutro Max not put water on it and just add the Missing link like always and guess what he scarfed it down. Now my question is my baby is 9 months he lost his baby teeth already is leaving the food dry with out adding a little bit of water to hard on his teeth i just love to hear him crunch away. But then on the other hand i dont want to hurt his teeth either. Please help me out my Yorkie Talk friends

| No the dry is the best thing for their teeth. My Vet doesnt like dogs to eat moist at all but mine do eat a little bit.

| The hard food helps to keep their teeth healthy... especially with little dogs. Ferdinand loves his food crunchy too. He bats it out of the bowl and plays with it... even runs across the room with it, then eats it. It's really funny to watch.

| Yeah, I've heard that hard food is better since it cleans their teeth and I think I even read it makes them stronger, but don't quote me on that. I used to put wet food in with Maizee's dry and she would eat around the wet to get to the dry. . I guess that's why they make different degrees of hard/soft food |

| It won't hurt at all and is better for him. You are lucky he prefers it that way. My two Yorkies were both started on dry food by their breeders and I never moistened it when I fed them. I did give them a little canned, but they seem to prefer the dry so I am going with that. Trying hard to get my other two dogs on dry as well.
