| Venus spay went good! I can pick her up at 3:30!!! But I have to keep her crated, and quiet. So no sleeping on the big bed tonight, I have a feeling my butt will be on the floor beside her crate, lol. At almost 50, probably too old to be trying the floor out myself. I know as long as she's groggy, I'm going to worry about her. Can't wait to get her home, and healed. Thank you all SO much for the prayers! |

Funny you mentioned sleeping on the floor... When Izzie was spayed, I put the 3 couch cushions by the crate with a twin fitted sheet. Granted I had it folded lengthwise and so the fitted corners only fit on one side, but it held it together. I just couldn't let her sleep alone in the crate.

| I am so happy it's over. Welcome home Venus. I hope she heals fast and you don't have more than one night on the floor. Carol & Buddy |

Ok, I found out anyway that its very rare that vets use barbituates, but I asked anyway. I also asked what kind of anethsia they used. You want Isoflurane. I asked all this chit before I found out my vet used to raise yorkies, lol. Her spay went great, and she's now home, in her crate resting nicely. I know you can really worry yourself sick asking too many questions! I know I did anyway. Almost talked myself out of it for fear of loosing my dog. I'd ask, come back to the boards here, to see what was ok, and what wasn't. I made myself a basket case long before I even made an appointment! I got really lucky today. I called before Venus ate or drank anything. Vet tech said she could do it today, or wait till Feb She said if I came now, she could do it today. I (or they) did't give me time to back out of it, or scare me to death. I know if I waited till Feb, I would be obsessing about it for another 2 months! And Yorkie 3, thanks for that suggestion. Beats sleeping on the floor (almost 50 here), or dragging my mattress off the bed to the floor! | |

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | So glad it's done, and Venus is doing well. I've not been too long through spaying with Abbie. I about made myself sick over all the "what-ifs", too! In the end, we just have to trust God with them and forge ahead for what's best for them. Like our skin kids . She did end up in the Big Bed, though - I was afraid she'd get chilled in her carrier. She did just fine, because I'm always aware of where she is, in my sleep.

| got a name for my baby Thanks for all the input, the name i chose for him is " Sir Brad lee" . I was just watching him the other day and he just looked at me with those brad lee eyes. Also my brother's middle name is "Lee" and one of his daughters is named "Leigh" and they are the one's who got him for me. Took him to vet he has not been fed the proper food to get the nuti. he needs. the vet thought he was hypo, and he was, after he had layed around for two days she gave him some meds and he is like a new puppy. He did have a small upper reisp. infection. On meds for that. As for pictures he goes to get his first hair cut in the morning, then I will send pictures. We also started today to train to go outside and pee pee and poo poo. he has been great went every time. He is still a little scar of what is going to happen next, but hopefully with a lot of love he will get better.Sunday he goes for his first ride on a Harley Davidson motorcycle in a backpack on my back. I ride a harley v-rod and i want him to ride with me. our first ride will be very short just down the road and back to see if he likes it. I carry him on my back now while I work so he will not be scar of the backpack and he loves it. pictures comimg soon. Thanks to everyone for input. |
