Well they will just tell you no food or water the night before. Make sure you ask for pain meds for your baby as they are optional and sometimes they don't give them. Neutering I think is less painful than spaying on the females as the incision is tiny compared to the one made for spaying females. Anyhow your boy will be fine and best wishes.

Chewy was just spayed less than 2 weeks ago. She was also able to go home at the end of the day. But honestly she was only in pain the first night when i brought her home , i gave her one pill to get her to go to sleep. the next morning she was pretty much back to normal just a little slower than usual so i didnt igve her anything else. The vet didnt charge me for the meds...but they only gave me 3 pills which are 1/8 of a pill each. the surgery was 85 dollars and they also used gas which i hear is better. I finally found a good vet in brooklyn ny....if anyone needs a recomendation let me know dont worry hell be fine and back to jumping around in no time good luck

You can also look at this website http://www.friendsofanimals.org/ You can buy spay/neuter certificates that vets will take as long as your vet participated I think a neuter is $65. http://www.friendsofanimals.org/snce...tructions.html The Friends of Animals certificate covers the cost of a routine spay/neuter procedure including a cursory (not full) surgical pre-exam, anesthesia, surgical procedure, waste disposal, day of surgery post-operative care and pain-relief, hospitalization as required, and stitch removal if necessary. The certificate takes about a week to receive.
