| Sadie and her tricks Well, folks, after owing Sadie the Lady for three weeks, she pulled a fast one on me. I took Mother to Mom's Day dinner and was only gone for two hours. I put Sadie in my laundry room, instead of her crate. The window ledge is about 4 -1/2 ft. off the ground. She foolishly jumped onto my laundry basket which is about up to my knees, and onto the window ledge. I don't know if she was there for the entire two hours or not, but I was in disbelief when I opened the door. There she sat, with a sheepish look on her mug, and she was afraid to jump, or even turn around. It scared the dickens out of me. Tomorrow I am going to fine tune the laundry room, so that this does not happen again. Does anyone else have a Yorkie who thinks she is part cat. This really concerns me. She could have broke her little neck. Thanks. Kate |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm sorry but this was funny - and it COULD have been bad but it sounds like Sadie was very smart and thought it through and realized she couldn't get back down without hurting herself - SMART !!! I think my little Cheri would have taken the Supergirl jump back off the ledge... I have a feeling she may not do that again after being stuck there the whole time you were gone...Maybe rig something so she can climb up and look out the window for next time ? She might like that and at least you'll know she won't jump |

| How cute. My dogs think they are cats too. That's why I can't leave treats on the tables or out in the open. Here is a picture of Pepper resting on the back on the couch. Last edited by yorkieagility; 05-10-2005 at 07:19 AM. |

| Angel thinks she's a cat too. She will get up on window ledges, or rub her body across the body of the couch (back and forth), but her favorite is sleeping on top of the couch on the very back. She climbs up there, turns around in circles then plops down. She also chases after tiny balls like cats do. She doesn't play with other toys, just the balls. She prefers bouncy balls...those hard rubbar ones.

| There is alot of truth to your comment. I have a tri-level home, and there is no place for her to look out the window except for the master bathroom. My sofas are not really near the windows. I am trying to think of what I can do. I have ordered steps so she can jump off my 26" high bed, without hurting her back leg, which she did once. Right now, she waits for me to lift her off. The steps should be here tomorrow, and maybe I can move them from one room to another to help with the window situation. When she visits my parents' home, the first thing she does after shaking paws with Grandma and Grandpa is head for the window. Yes, folks, this cat/dog shakes paws with everyone. I taught her to shake the fourth day I had her, and now this is a daily event. She races me up the stairs, and puts her paw through every rail to shake. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. She leans way over so it looks like she is going to fall.
