| Wooohoo! Esme FINALLY started loosing some teeth, but I have a ??? Esme started losing her teeth the week she turned six months. My husband and I were thrilled since she has her appt for her spaying next month, and the vet said he would pull any left over baby teeth then. The way my husband sees it, every tooth Esme looses before the spay is money in his pocket! So, my question is: ARE THE FANGS GOING TO COME OUT TOOO??? I really want her to loose those sharp pointy teeth because those are the ones that hurt when she gives us her love bites. (I tried to take a picture but she didn't want to show me her teeth).

| The canines may not fall out on their own, those are the most complicated teeth because the roots are VERY long. You can try to loosen them by playing tug of war with your baby with an old sock but they still may need to be pulled. When and if your baby has them pulled, look at the root on that thing and you will see what I mean lol.The root is longer than the tooth its self |

| Well Toto didn't lose his canines. His adult ones were growing next to the baby ones. He was 6 months when he got neutered and he got his 2 baby canines pulled out. I heard that's its very common in yorkies to not lose their baby canines, that those are the ones that are most likely to be tooken out by a vet.

| Yes, the vet will remove those pointy teeth (canines) when she goes in for her spay. Our yorkie's teeth took longer to fall out than six months, he actually just recently lost his top canines at about 10-11 months. The thing about it is that his new teeth had already come in before he lost his canines. Now he's lost all his baby teeth and has all his new teeth in! |

| Gus has one stubborn fang that won't come out. It's his last baby tooth. It looks so funny because it is longer than the rest of his teeth and sometimes you can see it hanging out of his mouth. Like your husband I keep thinking if it will just fall out I won't have to pay for it. I wiggle it all the time but it won't budge.

| Hercules has his bottom fangs in with the "grown up" teeth growing in next to them. How long should I wait to have them pulled??

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I remember worrying about Chanels double fangs - hers fell out on their own around 10 months - Cheri still has her and she will be going in because I don't think they'll fall out - All yorkies are different - but this is very common - I guess you can tell hubby that this should be the only dental work done on your baby - (except maybe cleaning) ...so once they're pulled - they're gone and you shouldn't have to have any more work done - |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Actually I think that's GOOD ....I almost wonder if they get more than one set because I remember Chanels teeth changing so often - but she never had to have any pulled and has a perfect bite - lol...the vet said that ..not me ...but I always worried when I saw a tooth on the couch ! |
