How long is too Long?? Hi, I was just wondering how often everyone leaves their furbabys alone?? I'm in school about 2-3 hrs a day sometimes longer depending on homework, and I was thinkin of gettin a part time job. But Rocky really hates being alone, and I knoe yorkies have bad seperation anxiety. SO how long is too long for them to be left alone?? Thanks -Donna and Rocky

I think generally 8 hours is the longest you should leave them all alone (in my opinion), especially if you take them outside to go to the bathroom and they are forced to hold it.

I have a playpen for her, She has her bed section, toy section, food section and also pee and poo section. This way you can be at ease with everything. I come home for lunch when I am at work. So I leave her alone 4 to 5 hours at a time. But if your baby has all this you can leave her for 8. Put an old shirt or something that you have your sent on in her bed. She will be fine. Good luck

Yes, I would suggest a maximum of eight hours, but I've spied on Yoda before. All he does is sleep when we aren't home.

well i hate to say it but i'm a single mom with 2 human kids and of course my 2 yorkies i leave my house at 7am take my son to school and go to work he gets home about 3 and i get home about 6 so my babies were left alone for a long time. Now my 65 year old mother had moved in with me so she is there during the day with them. I hated leaving them alone for that long but nothing i could do poor babies

I bet your baby and your Mother will make great companions for one another. The playpen is a great idea even with your Mother there but atleast your baby wont feel alone. Yorkies truly do desire the company of their owners...And visa versa!!
