| I can't believe some people. Actually, when I started doing my homework on Yorkshire Terriers, before deciding to purchase one, I found out that the most desired Yorkies weigh between 4 and 7 pounds. The so-called "teacups" (not such a thing) were usually referred to as "health problem" prone. Some breeders try to use extra small Yorkies (many with health issues) in their breeding stock, passing on the health problem issues to the litter. This is not saying that all little furkid Yorkies under 4 lbs are unhealthy, but many have been bred to the extreme, and there are A LOT of health issues!! This info may have ruffled her feathers a bit! It is so sad that people can be ignorant. Worse.... she obviously don't know that much about the breed ...... 2 lbs... spaying..... TOO RISKY if it was my little furbaby! I hope that it does OK..... poor little thing with an ignorant owner! |

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | People are so RUDE - her yorkie actually isn't 'standard' but you were nice to say nothing to her - I can't believe someone would diss someones pet like that - I know people DO this - but can't believe they're so arrogant to think they actually have a superior dog than you do over a pound or 2....or 3 lol - If she had to do that to you - then she obviously has a very high opinion of her ownself and is probably miserable as a person |

| Well, your story just goes to show how imposing some people can be. What does she care..........was she thinking of buying a pup from you? Hardly, she was just a busy buddy. So consider the source and be glad that you don't have to see her again or HEAR her again!

| I feel so sorry for that ladies yorkie. That yorkie baby needs to get rid of that mommy and get a new mommy and just "accept the loss". That mommy just isn't in the yorkie mommy standard, sad...but she needs to go!!

How despicable can one person be??? And if your kid was a bit overweight would she have said the same thing? I think your Yorkie is going to be a good size and very healthy .... to sell or give away a pet you love is crazy!

| No Longer a Member | The woman probably saw nothing wrong with what she said if she just sees her babies as an investment. How can someone own one of these beautiful little souls and think like that? I don't have many rerestrained bones in my body and truthfully don't know what I would have said to her. As I was standing in Walmart looking for Giz a Christmas shirt there was a woman doing the same for her Malteese. I picked up the medium one and she asked what kind of dog I had and I said Yorkie. She said my that's an extremey LARGE Yorky isn't it? As I stood there and thought of my fuzzy little bed head at home(11 pounds) with one ear up and one ear down and the face he gives me when he wants to be held, and I just said "more to love". No reason to go off on her, she was just ignorant. Gizmo is larger than a lot of guys on here but have also seen some his size and bigger. |

| Wish I could have been there with my Tahlulah. The lady would have choked if I'd have told her Tahlulah was 5 pounds at 4 months, is 7 months and only 5pounds 4 ounces & has been in the ring since she was 6 months old. She now has 4 points towards her AKC Championship. While her lil yorkie maybe cute, it's my opinion your yorkie is more to the standard.

| 5 lbs IS tiny! at least to me lol. I can't even imagine 2 lbs Yorkie, Pepper was 2 lbs around 12 weeks of age, but now is over 4. Still, of all the Yorkies I've met, I've seen only one smaller than he is.. And now he doesn't have to wear his annoying bell anymore, I'm not that afraid of stepping on him. He's healthy, his baby teeth fell out on their own, sturdy lil guy that can run for hours. I know he'll be in the upper scale fully grown but I'm happy about that (he doesn't like carriers anyway) - I'll have a great jogging partner for spring
