| Chewy was neutered, I have a question... Chewy was neutered on Friday. He had some back dew claws that had to be removed, he had baby teeth pulled, ear hair pulled, nails clipped and anal glands expressed. Needless to say, it was not a good day for him! He was really tired and out of it last night, but he did eat and drink. Today he is doing much better, even trying to play a little. My question is, the area where his testicles were is very red and swollen, even though the incision is up higher towards his penis. I called the vet, and the assistant said not to worry, that it is just some internal bleeding. Did anyone else experience this with their little guys? It is so red, it really looks like it hurts! |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I didn't really see any brusing when Bengi was neutered. It was dark when the incision was. Just make sure he doesn't lick too much, because it can open a little bit |

| Yep, Cooper's was like that too. It took about 2 weeks before it was totally gone.

VickiG, it doesn't feel hot to the touch, it is just very red. Thanks everyone for the responses. It makes me feel a little better that some others have experienced the same thing. I'm still a little worried, but I'll just keep an eye on it, otherwise he seems to be doing pretty good. | |

| My chewy was neutered last Monday... No red swelling!!! The vet told me if there is ANY swelling or redness to bring him in to be seen... They want to keep on top of it. Chewy does have a lump where the stiches are, but no red or swollen look... they wanted to see him so I brought him in and they said that was ok and normal. IF you have any question bring him to your vet to be checked... Chewy did not seem to be in any pain after the first 24 hours... follow your instinks! He had teeth out too and a microchip put in... Best wishes.

| They have to push or squeeze the testicles up and out of the incision that they make. That's where the bruising comes from. OUCH!!! |
