| ![]() Ok guys..... And seriously V, don't say I should have known better!!!! I already know.... my dad won a prize on the RADIO! Yeah!!!!! A free bath and groom at Super Mutts!! And a $25.00 gift cert at the Three Dog Bakery. He has been begging me to take the dogs in to get groomed!!! And I keep Saying that I do it myself!! But he was so excited about winning!!!! So I decided to go ahead and try it!! Well, its not as bad as it could have been.... Bur really.... when your PAYING someone to PROFESSIONALY groom your dog... (Cause one was free and I paid for the other... Yes I took both the girls!) ...you would expect them to use good products and to do a good job.... right?? ![]() Both of my girls ears are tipped... the upper 1/3 of their ear is shaved... I had done it 3 1/2 weeks ago... its not grown out all that much... It was really not in NEED of being done.... But I asked her to Tip them for me... and showed her what I meant... then I showed her their feet, and their butts.. explaining that these were the only placed they could cut! And then in great detail told her about the fit I would throw if they cut their coats or touched the hair on their faces or heads!!! And I was graphic!! I asked what king of shampoo they use... She said " its something that all the show people use... its only available to professionals" which means, "I ordered it from Pet Edge!" then she went on and on about how all of her clients are amazed at how soft their dogs are when they leave! And how she has a water softener so it makes it even better! Then she asked what I use on them and I told her I rotated between plush puppy and Chris Christensen and she was impressed saying that it explained why their coats were in such great condition... she ruined the compliment by following it up with saying that she was very surprised since Paris had never ever been to a groomer and Pixie had only been once at 4 months... I told her it was not the shampoo or conditioner but all of the products that I use inbetween that protect the coat... then I told her I had to run and asked her if she was comfortable with the instructions... And she said yes! And assured me that they'd be fine!! Soooooooooooooooooooooo...... I pick them up.... I wish like heck I had taken before and afters!!! You guys would have died!! I brought them in soft and coats laying nice and flat with a great part and the cutest top knots ever, the edges were perfect lines from the outside corners of their eyes to the top of the ear, and from ear to ear along the back... Perfectly straight!!! And I picked them up with major static fly away coats, nothing even resembling a part.... and my gosh... the most brittle dry feeling in their hair!!! they had pony tails that were just grabbed and put in, not parted and combed up nicely! and the angle of the pony has the hair falling in pixies face!! her topknot is 6 inches long! It needs to be put back... Not falling in her face!!! Duh!!! And No Cute bows... The bows I had in are in a bag... the cut my bows out!!!! And put cloth scrunchie holders over RUBBER bands!!!! I almost sh*t!!! I had their bows looped once!!!! Over a Nylon Band that was looped 3 times.... You remove the bow and then cut the nylon band if you cant grab an edge... I explained this... But they cut it!!! It would have slid right off!!!!! UGH!!! Oh and did I mention that they did not even cut their feet, and only tipped 1/2 of the orignal 1/3 area??? it looks so lame!! And their CoodaBang and poopies are still seriously hairy!! Thank God I can do it myself!!! I think now would be a good time to try out that CowBoy Magic!!! Their Coats need some love!!!!!! Never again!!! Sorry so long... I'm just pissed! I'm 10X the groomer that gal is and she is the store owner!! and its a very upscale dog salon!! What a joke!!! I'm gonna keep grooming my own dogs!!! ![]() ![]() but now I've gotta get over it so I can RAVE to my dad... so he doesnt feel bad!! lol ![]()

| ![]() EEEK! This is why I do my best to keep them groomed myself - I have yet to take either one of my babies to a groomer and stories like this only affirm my decision. It's so annoying when you think you've left EXPLICIT directions only to be majorly let down by the outcome. At least you didn't arrive to find your dogs beautiful coats shaved down or something!

| ![]() I feel bad for ya....I can totally relate. My 1st groomer did a horrible job with my 2 boys one time, and that was all it took. And now I AM VERY BLESSED to have found my groomer I now have. I don't even have to tell her anything anymore....my 3 are perfect every single time now. I knew she HAD to be good when it took me over 4 monthes to get into her for an appointment. ![]() But you should maybe think about going into business as a groomer!!! Think about it! LOL! You would probably do very well....you do seem to know what to do and all that good stuff!!!! ![]() Sorry about your little ones going thru such an aweful experience though.

| ![]() I would have been uset by that experience and I would be real upset if a groomer cut my bows. My groomer is a perfectionist and Chachi and Jewels always come out better than they were when they went in. Both of their hair is silky smooth after a groom and they smell great.

| ![]() Glad your girls made it out with all there hair. I started doing my own grooming too after the girl I had been going to quit and opened her own business at her home in another town. I was scard at first but my group has got use to me now and don't seem to mine. It is hard to find a good groomer.

| ![]() I know how U feel I took Teddy last year around Nov and she SHAVED him off!! I mean he had NO hair left...and it was getting cold out here in Indiana so he froze to death everytime I took him to potty...Talking about having to use his sweater, not only outside, in side too! So I do mine here all 5 by myself! I feel for U...But thank goodness they do grow back! | ![]() I knew better!!! I have always groomed the girls myself.... But my dad!!! He was just so excited!!! hes 65!! How do you say no to that?? Yikes!! No mas!!! As far as doing it myself as a business.... Marcy, the gal I just dog sat for. Called me the day after she picked them up and told me that I was her new groomer! lol she said that her dogs have NEVER been as soft as when they came home!!! It was the Plush Puppy!! lol I groomed them before she picked them up... I had them 8 days... I groom every 7, on fridays!! lol But I would have to specialize in Yorkies!!! lol Maybe Maltese?? lol That could be fun... But is there really any money in it????

| ![]() This is exactly why I am way too scared to go to the groomers. CHloe has sort of a cottony coat so I could only imagine what they would do to her ![]()

| ![]() ok... Now I'm pissed!!!! I was going over the girls real closely.... they cut the long hairs on their ears when they half-ass tipped them!!! They did not pull the hair back to shave the ear, they just dove in with the clippers!!! That flippen hair is like 4 to 5 inches long!!!! ![]() That will look so stupid growing out! NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!! OK, I'm done.... And don't buy shampoo from Pet Edge... or where this cheep crap came from... It sucks! I feel so justified in my shampoo and conditioner splurges now!!! They are worth every penny!!! And then some!!!
