| Spydergurl, I had no intention of scaring you. I'm a new Yorkie mom and I was having nightmares when the breeder told me what to watch out for. Our land is double fenced, with dogs, guns, security lighting, and the whole dang package. It's a shame that the predator birds can't understand security of property. We also have Maggie on a leash or she is in her covered playpen, at all times. Sometimes it's a pain in the backside to take her outside to wee, when you are busy with something else---but to look into those baby eyes and think what could happen---takes the back seat to anything that I am involved in at the time. I will never let my guard down after learning the horrible fate of so many babies. If you do, then it may be too late. |

| We had one that kept hanging around, and I think he was waiting to get our Chihuahua b/c she is so small. We saw him sitting in the tree in the front yard and the dogs in the back. My hubby got out his shotgun(no he didnt shoot it) and fired a warning shot. I havent seen it in a while but We are keeping a look out!

| Erin - that is so scary! I have never seen any kind of bird of prey here. The most exciting birds I see are cardinals and blue jays... Anyway, Stewie does the same thing -- he runs away when I call him to come. I think if you have this sense of urgency in your voice, they can tell the difference. The other day Stewie ran out of my front door and was going toward the street. I screamed his name in a voice I didn't even know I had. He skidded to a stop, turned around and came back toward me. I'm so happy that Gus is safe. It does suck to have them on leashes in the backyard, but better safe than sorry.
