| All vaccinations before puppy training? I want to take Howie to the puppy classes at Petsmart. He's currently a little over 3 months old and I feel like this is a good time for him to start training and socializing. He hasn't gotten all his vaccinations yet (most usually don't until their 16-17 weeks), do you recommending waiting until they have all their shots, or do you think it's okay for me to take him? Thanks! |

| Yes , Are petsmart check to see that all Minnie shots where done before she could attend. Lots of germ running around in there.

| The Petsmarts that I've checked with want them to have 2 sets of shots done, which Howie does have. But, do you think they need ALL of their vaccines before attending? Meaning, waiting until they're over 4 months old. |

| I would wait until all vaccinations have been given, why take any chances. All the dogs in the class I believe have to have 2 sets. But what about the other dogs that are just in the store coughing & slobbering on the floor? Are they vaccinated? Four months isn't to old to start training. You can also start training yourself. I have seen wonderful web sites for free that get you started. |

| I agree with Pipersmommy - too many other dogs in Petsmart just running around to take any chances with your baby. Sadie's starting her classes at Pet Smart in a couple of weeks and she'll be 6 months old. I can't wait!!!

| I waited until Kona and Bernie had all of their shots before sending them to puppy classes. I'd wait a few more weeks and then start the class.

| My vet told me not to take them around other dogs, or even put them on the ground where other dogs have been until they had all of their shots. Better to be safe than sorry. You could start some training at home in the mean time. |
